If By Kathy Lynn
If I were to hug you, Hold you close to me. I would never let you go, I know that is how it would be.
Can not trust myself, The feelings are too intense. You intrigue me to much, For me to use common sense.
So I put on a façade, Try so hard to pretend. That there is no feeling there, Don’t want to be hurt again.
I put on my mask, For I don’t want anyone to see, When I go out for the day, That there are two faces to me.
One that the outside world, Sees as happy and carefree. The other is the scared one, That one is the real me.

This is very true Kathy, we so often hide our vulnerability behind a mask of cheerfulness, projecting what we think the world wants to see. When in fact it our vulnerability that is most attractive.

Thank you David and Dawness for your comments. Yes, many times we hide the true self from others trying to protect ourselfs from being hurt.

Kathylynn, boy do I relate. I do this all the time. Only once in awhile you come across a person who can see beyond the facade. Dratted people. Beautiful vixen
