I watch the moon rise beginning her lone ascent into darkling skies.
Her white countenance veiled with leafless tree crowns as though black mantilla lace were laid artlessly across her face.
Her aloof lunar grin locked and frozen in a grimace of despair the lone mute witness of earth's sad demise.
Overrun by the erstwhile children of the sun, blinded by the light. As from the dark we fall ass over teakettle.
Again and again...
