You say you just don't get it... What's my problem? As you attempt the staring through of me, with your frozen dark blue ocean eyes...
This is what you don't get... It's one thing for me to risk my life... It's another thing for you to risk my life...
Up to this point, it was a fact... I would have stopped a bullet for you... No matter what you've done... Now, I would hesitate...
In the knowing, my life means so little to you, my son.
For you... I'm just another victim...
Left by the wayside, of your blasted and wasted life...
~Sabrina

AWESOME!!
i have been there, i'm sure all of us have, when we would have taken any bullet for a beloved. The moment when you think twice about that is as heartbreaking and shattering as if you actually did it. The moment another thinks somehow your life is THEIR choice ... is gutting.
i love the shape of this poem, i connected with its vital power and the horrific sadness of its honesty ... it so hurts to say "no" ... one of the biggest lessons on this earth, eh?
*howling with ya on this one, sweetheart!

now, you have me crying to...can't hit you in the arm...you're a girl...ggglgggl...and yes...yes...the minute you realize you'd think twice...is worse than taking the bullet... oh, so very true...so shocking, to realize how little you life means to someone else....especially, someone you raised and went to bat for, so many times...gutting is an apt description, Shell...gutted...i've been gutted...been trying to figure out a word that described it...gutting...gutted...good one, Shell...and good to know, you're howling with me on this one, lady...as misery does soooooooooooooooooo love company...(((((Shell)))))

And in the hesitation I would weep for you... as I do now, as I do now...

Loved the style of the write. It is sad when we find out that the one we would have died for thinks nothing of us. Sad but true reality.
