I turn down the sheets and fall into a deep slumber
Much like my waking moments
I am held bondage by my own screams
Images colliding, I see before me
Icicles dripping with blood
Darkness unlike any other comes over me
I brace myself for that much needed gasp filling up my lungs
Anger, madness, utter sorrow and many betrayals
Darkness covers all, on a biblical scale
And all fail
For the humankind has ruptured its last seam
Dangling by threads too minute to be seen
As chaos reams one more and than another
Till all the king’s men fall
I heed to you this warning call
A sickening stench fills the air
Titillating foul or it would seem
As it hoisters itself upon my angel’s dead, decaying wings
And for tonight, I do not fly
I do not fly anywhere, anymore
While scores and scores of souls fall at my feet
I see only myself, not as God, not as an angel, nor quite the human factor
Only the stagnant sensation of human failure
I see nothing but pitch black, my hands fading from my sight
Too difficult to see them before me
I lower my hands and I dare not run
Looking for that light to light up the room
The one that tells me, I am only dreaming
Pitch black it remains as I call upon a God
That has quite possibly left me here to fend for myself
The suffering of many brings about no praise
And so, for tonight, I do not fly
I do not fly anywhere, anymore
Anymore, no not anymore
On broken wings, I fly no more
