I am in the death of a new tomorrow Flying free on blood soaked wings I am in the breath of someone’s sorrow A sad lament that the lonely sing
And where were you when I needed comfort Where were you when I needed pain For how many days must I continue to be hurt Why am I always the one to blame
I am in the breast which once held a heart Empty inside chained to the void I am the rotting doll who now is torn apart Making way for a brand new toy
And who are they who stand over my grave Looking down as if they really care Faking your grief with all the tears you saved Over the years when you never knew I was there
I am in a hell which is better than living Taking my seat on a throne of flames Here there is no reason to be forgiving Here we are the epitome of what is shame
May a whisper catch the laughter when I’m gone A taunting rhythm of a dying soul I guess my death can never be wrong For it is I who looks up at you from this hole
Don’t say a prayer for me It will fall on deaf ears And don’t cry upon your knees I don’t want any of your tears Don’t leave flowers at my feet Let them wilt with my memory In another life I doubt we will meet So hold on strong to your divinity For belief may be all you have left Long after the grave calls you home But trust in these words that I’ve said Even faith will leave you alone

yet hope springs eternal beyond this mortal coil the husk of life shed like some outworn skin we can take what does not already exist within
