The Blackwood River
I should love to be the river That sallies through these hills And reflects the clouds in silver Ripples ridging, Taste the thrills
Of growing wide with winter rain And rolling round the bends; And flirting with the bracken fern In bunches as it wends
And winds it’s way along the banks Tree-lined, collecting seeds To plant downstream, and then with thanks Murmured amidst the reeds
It rushes by the boulders, tickling Pebbles in it’s path With giggling and trickling… The native birds that bath
And hunt along the length of it Plunge into it’s embrace, Emerging sparkling, jewel-light lit By setting Sun’s gold face.
I should love to be the Blackwood River, That’ll be my wish Refreshing anyone I could And hugging all the fish.

Thrilled you found the breadcrumb trail to the gingerbread house, sweet pretty...ggglgggl...Thought I might have to send the flying monkeys for you...I know I don't need to ask you this but for old time's sake...I can't resist... The Blackwood River runs near to my door And no I'm afraid I don't have any more For I must do the dishes, hang clothes on the line Compare me to Wordsworth, heck! Well I'm tryin'
Have a wonderful day, Sabrina and Dave See you tomorrow! (Disappears with a wave!)
