In the near distance, the heavens mumble and mutter; grumble and groan in low tense voices; reminiscent of a crowd of old men, well past their prime, lolling in rocking chairs on a porch, debating their aches and pains.
Mmmmumble, mmmmumble, mmmmutter, mmmmutter, mmmutter, grroan, grrrumble...
The aurical entity moves nearer... The heavenly message becomes clearer... Louder...Insistent...Animated... No heavenly gaggle of onerous, tired ganders, this... This is something more... This way nearer moving, fast and quick... Rythmic, hard ululations of sound... This has transmorgriped into an ephemeral labor and delivery ward.
Assonant and dissonant energy bouncing from within and without the undulations of the swollen wombs of the clouds.
Howls and screams richochet across the skies, as the decibel level of the thunder grows to the voices of denizens of women in the throes of labor and delivery pangs.
Lightning rips asunder the darkness, and Frankenstein is born to rock and roll, as a tornado reaches it's conical toe, from it's roiling, celestial womb and jumps down, into this dimension, to literally grow up, in the blink of an eye, as hell on earth.

~With or Without Reason...
Nature gives in bounteous measure... Field after rolling green field, an emerald treasure... Woods and forests, thickets and swamps... To us, Nature has afforded, without trumps...
Then, one morning, Nature wakes up... And finds a hair in her cereal or her coffee cup... Or perhaps, something far more dire, sets her off... Her mourning clothes, she's had to doff...
Either way, Nature roars literally across the known world... And leaves anciently grown trees, bent, broken and curled... Obliterates hundreds of homes, businesses and some schools, in several counties, no less...
Sadder still, is the human toll, Nature takes in her wrath... An entire family of five, spirited away by the wraith... Along with five other individuals, gone, just gone... This isn't God's punishment sent for one to atone...
This is Nature, at her worst, with or without reason; and she shines at it, in this tornadic riddled season. She isn't prejudiced, sexist, nor swayed by religion; takes all in her path, without mercy upon any human.
Miracles, God's work, is in the survival stories and tales... Moments, when humanity shone, and hope again, sails... Neighbors and strangers, alike, cleaning up mangled debris... Earthbound angels, afloat on a tormented sea of reality...?
*Not sure about that last line...*

Dear anirbas:
I think you have created not one, but two, masterpieces. I just joined, so am mystified as to why nobody other than yourself commented upon the first one, and in that comment created the second one. The power of Nature theme is one that I think should be addressed more. Too often we gripe about cold weather or praise delightful warm breezes. Too seldom we express our awe -- and anger and anguish -- at the devastation Nature can inflict in one brief moment, sometimes with loss of human and animal life in numbers we can't even imagine!
You have marvelous talent, create outstanding imagery, and you use it very compellingly!
Thank you for sharing these (I can't say "this") with all of us!
Best regards,
Monica

Monica, thank you, so much! I cannot deny your comments just blew the size of my ego as high as a wallcloud...Because, they did! ;D ;D ;D
Thunderstorms have fascinated me since childhood...I swear I could have been a storm chaser...If I hadn't of turned out to be a kid chaser...LOL...I'm the crazy lady the neighbors whisper about, as sometimes, I'm seen in the middle of thunderstorms, with or without an umbrella, in the backyard, same as when I was a kidlet, as long as the lightning isn't to ferocious and it isn't hailing, yet.
Just the other day, a city councilman, no less, in my neck of the woods was bonked on the head by a bolt of lightning, not while playing golf, as is usually heard, but while mowing his own lawn! The wallcloud was visable, but still a bit aways from his home...Fairly clear skies, over his own head...Until that finger of lightning reached out and raised his hair and sent him to the hospital, not the least bit swayed by the fact, he is a city councilman...Nature is an indescrimate and rarely discreet mistress with a sense of humor, all her very own...Yes? Nir.
