thin gray cold light glimmers faintly in frost that vanishes like a startled thief leaving iridescent strands glowing here glittering there on fields of gold abandoned

Thanks, Vixen. I was trying to capture that moment at sunrise when frost melts into dewdrops. Sometimes when I write it helps to have an image in mind. I think that was the process here. Of course with poetry anything can happen.

Glenn - this is a descriptive delight. As always i see an emotion-scape too, mine not yours, but then it's been a frosty week for me *grin .. i always enjoy your writing

You should be here where I am!!!! This place is transformed right now. I love it! I was walking home yesterday from the bus stop, looking at all of the beautiful colors of leaves, and smelling the smoke from someone's fire place. There is just a cool crispness in the air and I guess I am at my finest hour. Not hot, not cold, but just right!!!! Sam

I had almost forgotten about this poem, Pamela.
Yes, it is starting to cool off again. Autumn on its way.
One sure sign of the changing seasons here is when the sumac begins to turn red. I kind of prefer this time of year, with the mornings cool and the afternoons still warm. Should last until late October, if all goes well.

slipping by for a re-read of this infinitesimally wonderful tribute to October... it just became very, very cold in Texas, today...from being in the 90's yesterday, to a forty degree drop, today...brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...i'm freezing down here! LOL Nir.
