That speck in the telescope Millions of light-years away Is actually a star Several times larger than our Sun I wonder What would I look like In a telescope at the distance of that speck A microspeck? A nanospeck? Invisible? And the light from that speck Just now reaching the earth Was emitted before man ever existed on this planet. Weird... Certainly makes for interesting speck-u-lation.

23 1/2 degrees Doesn't seem like much Maybe the difference between a warm summer's day And a cool summer's evening But it could be the difference between water and ice Or water and steam And 23 1/2 degrees using compass and map Could mean the difference between staying lost Or being found. Even more profound 23 1/2 degrees can cause migrations And celebrations And fire up the imaginations of Lonely bards waiting for spring For long ago a distant impact Rocked a Young Earth Causing her to wobble And tilt On her axis 23 1/2 degrees.

The moon is spinning And yet the "dark side" never rotates into view. The moon and the earth Locked in a gravitational embrace A dance wherein Lady Moon Pirouettes once every 29.53 days While she do-si-dos Always keeping her face Toward her beloved. It is possible, With her celestial upbringing, That our Lunar Lady Just doesn't want to show her backside.
