Umbrella lyrics Artist: Rihanna Album: Good Girl Gone Bad Year: 2007 Title: Umbrella
[Jay-Z] Ahuh Ahuh (Yea Rihanna) Ahuh Ahuh (Good girl gone bad) Ahuh Ahuh (Take three... Action) Ahuh Ahuh
No clouds in my storms Let it rain, I hydroplane in the bank Coming down with the Dow Jones When the clouds come we gone, we Rocafella We fly higher than weather And G5’s are better, You know me, an anticipation, for precipitation. Stacked chips for the rainy day Jay, Rain Man is back with little Ms. Sunshine Rihanna where you at?
[Rihanna] You have my heart And we'll never be worlds apart May be in magazines But you'll still be my star Baby cause in the dark You can't see shiny cars And that's when you need me there With you I'll always share Because
[Chorus] When the sun shines, we’ll shine together Told you I'll be here forever Said I'll always be a friend Took an oath I'ma stick it out till the end Now that it's raining more than ever Know that we'll still have each other You can stand under my umbrella You can stand under my umbrella (Ella ella eh eh eh) Under my umbrella (Ella ella eh eh eh) Under my umbrella (Ella ella eh eh eh) Under my umbrella (Ella ella eh eh eh eh eh eh)
These fancy things, will never come in between You're part of my entity, here for Infinity When the war has took it's part When the world has dealt it's cards If the hand is hard, together we'll mend your heart Because
[Chorus] When the sun shines, we’ll shine together Told you I'll be here forever Said I'll always be a friend Took an oath I'ma stick it out till the end Now that it's raining more than ever Know that we'll still have each other You can stand under my umbrella You can stand under my umbrella (Ella ella eh eh eh) Under my umbrella (Ella ella eh eh eh) Under my umbrella (Ella ella eh eh eh) Under my umbrella (Ella ella eh eh eh eh eh eh)
You can run into my arms It's okay don't be alarmed Come into me There's no distance in between our love So go on and let the rain pour I'll be all you need and more Because
[Chorus] When the sun shines, we’ll shine together Told you I'll be here forever Said I'll always be a friend Took an oath I'ma stick it out till the end Now that it's raining more than ever Know that we'll still have each other You can stand under my umbrella You can stand under my umbrella (Ella ella eh eh eh) Under my umbrella (Ella ella eh eh eh) Under my umbrella (Ella ella eh eh eh) Under my umbrella (Ella ella eh eh eh eh eh eh)
It's raining Ooh baby it's raining Baby come into me Come into me It's raining Oh baby it's raining

I'd forgotten how much I liked Kate Bush's music. Wonderful, weird sound effects and a beautiful voice. Haunting moods. Here's one more from Hound of Love, and then I'll stop boring you people with it. Under iceby Kate Bush It's wonderful Everywhere, so white The river has frozen over Not a soul on the ice Only me skating fast I'm speeding past trees Leaving little lines in the ice, Cutting out little lines in the ice Splitting, splitting sound, Silver heels spitting, spitting snow. ("Sonar says...[inaudible]...deep...[inaudible]") There's something moving under Under the ice moving Under ice through water Trying to "It's me." Get out of the cold water "It's me." Something, "It's me." Someone, help them ***************************************** Here's a link to the website where I found these lyrics: alwaysontherun.net/kate.htm

Deeper Well
by: Dave Olney, Daniel Lanois, Emmylou Harris
the sun burned hot, it burned my eyes burned so hot I thought I'd died thought I'd died and gone to hell lookin' for the water from a deeper well
I went to the river but the river was dry I fell to my knees and I looked to the sky I looked to the sky and the spring rain fell I saw the water from a deeper well
well, lookin for the water from a deeper well well, lookin for the water from a deeper well
I was ready for love, I was ready for the money ready for the blood and ready for the honey ready for the winnin', ready for the bell lookin' for the water from a deeper well
I found some love and I found some money found that blood would drip from the honey found I had a thirst that I could not quell lookin' for the water from a deeper well
well, lookin for the water from a deeper well well, lookin for the water from a deeper well
well I did it for kicks and I did it for faith I did it for lust and I did it for hate I did it for need and I did it for love addiction stayed on tight like a glove
so I ran with the moon and I ran with the night and the three of us were a terrible sight nipple to the bottle, to the gun, to the cell to the bottom of a hole of a deeper well
well lookin for the water from a deeper well well lookin for the water from a deeper well
I rocked with the cradle and I rolled with the rage I shook those walls and I rattled that cage I took my trouble down a deadend trail reachin' out a hand for a holier grail
hey there mama did you carry that load did you tell your baby 'bout the bend in the road 'bout the rebel yell 'bout the one that fell lookin' for the water from a deeper well
well, lookin for the water from a deeper well well, lookin for the water from a deeper well
*****************
I was listening to the live version of this last night. Quite a powerful song!

Track: Midnight by dawud warnsby www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQavjtpYEkkLyrics: He sat back in his arrogant sort of way. He said, “There’s nothing more to say.” then lectured on for another hour. She said, everything was fine. She said, she didn’t like to whine, then cried on for another hour. They sat there screaming through the room was silent. They sat so still though the scene was violent. And words can never really help you say, what you want them to anyway. And words can never really help you see, what you really want to be. He took a last sip of cold tea. Last chance to stop all these lies. Last chance to clean up these lives. This could be the final hour. This could be the final hour, or this could be the finest hour. And words can never really help you say what you want them to anyway. And words can never really help you see, what you really want to be. He took a last sip of cold tea.

LOVE IS
words and music: Anna, Jane and Kate McGarrigle (The McGarrigle Sisters)
Love is a shiny car Love is a steel guitar Love is a battle scar Love is a morning star
Love is a twelve bar blues Love is your blue suede shoes Love is a heart abused Love is a mind confused
Love is the pleasures untold And for some love is still a band of gold
My love has no reason has no rhyme My love crossed the double-line
Love is a minor chord Love is a mental ward Love is a drawn sword Love is its own reward
Love is the pleasures untold And for some love is still a band of gold My love has no reason has no rhyme My love crossed the double-line

Prayer in Open Dby Emmylou Harris There's a valley of sorrow in my soul Where every night I hear the thunder roll Like the sound of a distant gun Over all the damage I have done And the shadows filling up this land Are the ones I built with my own hand There is no comfort from the cold Of this valley of sorrow in my soul There's a river of darkness in my blood And through every vein I feel the flood I can find no bridge for me to cross No way to bring back what is lost Into the night it soon will sweep Down where all my grievances I keep But it won't wash away the years Or one single hard and bitter tear And the rock of ages I have known Is a weariness down in the bone I use to ride it like a rolling stone Now just carry it alone There's a highway risin' from my dreams Deep in the heart I know it gleams For I have seen it stretching wide Clear across to the other side Beyond the river and the flood And the valley where for so long I've stood With the rock of ages in my bones Someday I know it will lead me home ************************************** A performance of this song is listed on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EKx-nYqZWM

I have adored the above song, Glenn, since I first heard it sung, in the movie "Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou?"
Cheryl, the Midnight song, is it an original you heard on YouTube? If it is, it's quite good as well.
Thank you both for sharing!!!! Take care and blessed be, Sabrina.

The three sing very well together -- Welch, Krauss, and Harris. I was actually looking to see if anything from the album Spyboy was listed on youtube when I found that one. Serendipity, I guess.
Music has a great power to heal, I think.

SING CHILDREN OF THE WORLD www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJRspo3DeW0 Walking through the crowded streets of a market in Morocco Sitting on a smiling camel in the desert of Arabia Chasing 'round the bamboo trees abandoned in Indonesia Gathering brightly coloured leaves in a forest of Canada Napping beneath the date palm shade under blue skies of Tunisia Sweeping out his parents' shop on a side street in Pakistan Planting rows of beans and maize on a small farm in Uganda Laying back to count the stars from somewhere in Afghanistan Oh Sing Children of the World (Sing along) Come together and hear the call Sing Children of the World (Sing along) Islam will unite us all Sing Children of the World (Sing along) Come together and hear the call Sing Children of the World (Sing along) Islam will unite us all Subhanallah, Wa Alhamdullillah Wa Allahu Akbar! Subhanallah, Wa Alhamdullillah Wa Allahu Akbar! Splashing through the pouring rain in a village of Guyana Nibbling cakes from picnic plates on a mountain top in Switzerland Tending to a flock of sheep down under in Australia Greeting morning with a prayer on the golden Egyptian Sand Oh Sing Children of the World (Sing along) Come together and hear the call Sing Children of the World (Sing along) Islam will unite us all Sing Children of the World (Sing along) Come together and hear the call Sing Children of the World (Sing along) Islam will unite us all Subhanallah, Wa Alhamdullillah Wa Allahu Akbar! Subhanallah, Wa Alhamdullillah Wa Allahu Akbar! Crying himself to sleep with no hope left for dreaming Begging in the burning sun, holding out her hand Palms held tightly on his ears to muffle all the screaming Sitting where her house once stood trying hard to understand See the Children of the World (Subhannallah) All the Children of the World (Subhannallah) Sing for the Children of the World (Subhannallah) Pray for the Children of the World (Subhannallah) [DWA and Children] Sing Children of the World (Sing along) Come together and hear the call Sing Children of the World (Sing along) Islam will unite us all Sing Children of the World (Sing along) Come together and hear the call Sing Children of the World (Sing along) Islam will unite us all Sing Children of the World (Sing along) Come together and hear the call Sing Children of the World (Sing along) Islam will unite us all Subhanallah, Wa Alhamdullillah Wa Allahu Akbar! "Big Girls Don't Cry" lyrics by Fergie
*Lil' Miss Fergie finally came out with a song I like*
Da Da Da Da The smell of your skin lingers on me now You're probably on your flight back to your home town I need some shelter of my own protection baby To be with myself and center, clarity Peace, Serenity
[CHORUS:] I hope you know, I hope you know That this has nothing to do with you It's personal, myself and I We've got some straightenin' out to do And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket But I've got to get a move on with my life It's time to be a big girl now And big girls don't cry Don't cry Don't cry Don't cry
The path that I'm walking I must go alone I must take the baby steps 'til I'm full grown, full grown Fairytales don't always have a happy ending, do they? And I foresee the dark ahead if I stay
[CHORUS]
Like the little school mate in the school yard We'll play jacks and uno cards I'll be your best friend and you'll be my Valentine Yes you can hold my hand if you want to 'Cause I want to hold yours too We'll be playmates and lovers and share our secret worlds But it's time for me to go home It's getting late, dark outside I need to be with myself and center, clarity Peace, Serenity
[CHORUS]
La Da Da Da Da Da

I Won't Back Down lyrics by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
Well I won't back down No I won't back down You can stand me up at the gates of hell But I won't back down No I'll stand my ground, won't be turned around And I'll keep this world from draggin me down gonna stand my ground ... and I won't back down
Chorus: (I won't back down...) Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out (and I won't back down...) hey I will stand my ground and I won't back down
Well I know what's right, I got just one life in a world that keeps on pushin me around but I'll stand my ground ...and I won't back down
(I won't back down...) Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out (and I won't back down...) hey I will stand my ground (I won't back down) and I won't back down...
(I won't back down...) Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out (I won't back down) hey I won't back down (and I won't back down) hey baby, there ain't no easy way out (and I won't back down) hey I will stand my ground (and I won't back down) and I won't back down (I won't back down) No I won't back down...

Paralyzer lyrics by Finger Eleven
hold on so nervously To me and my drink I wish it was cooling me But so far, has not been good It’s been shitty And I feel awkward, as I should This club has got to be The most pretentious thing Since I thought you and me Well I am imagining A dark lit place Or your place or my place
Well I’m not paralyzed But, I seem to be struck by you I want to make you move Because you’re standing still If your body matches What your eyes can do You’ll probably move right through Me on my way to you
I hold out for one more drink Before I think I’m looking too desperately But so far has not been fun I should just stay home If one thing really means one This club will hopefully Be closed in three weeks That would be cool with me Well I’m still imagining A dark lit place Or your place or my place
I’m not paralyzed But, I seem to be struck by you I want to make you move Because you’re standing still If your body matches What your eyes can do You’ll probably move right through Me on my way to you
We’ll I’m not paralyzed But, I seem to be struck by you I want to make you move Because you’re standing still If your body matches What your eyes can do You’ll probably move right through Me on my way to you

I'll Be There - Jackson Five Davis/Gordy/West/Hutch
You and I must make a pact, we must bring salvation back Where there is love, I'll be there
I'll reach out my hand to you, I'll have faith in all you do Just call my name and I'll be there
I'll be there to comfort you, Build my world of dreams around you, I'm so glad that I found you I'll be there with a love that's strong I'll be your strength, I'll keep holding on
Let me fill your heart with joy and laughter Togetherness, well that's all I'm after Whenever you need me, I'll be there I'll be there to protect you, with an unselfish love that respects you Just call my name and I'll be there
If you should ever find someone new, I know he'd better be good to you 'Cause if he doesn't, I'll be there Don't you know, baby, yeah yeah I'll be there, I'll be there, just call my name, I'll be there
(Just look over your shoulders, honey - oo)
I'll be there, I'll be there, whenever you need me, I'll be there Don't you know, baby, yeah yeah
I'll be there, I'll be there, just call my name, I'll be there...

Constellation of the heart
by Kate Bush
We take all the telescopes And we turn them inside out And we point them away from the big sky Put your eye right up to the glass, now And here we'll find the constellation of the heart
Steer your life by these stars On the unconditional chance 'Tis here where Hell and Heaven dance This is the constellation of the heart
We take all the telescopes And we turn them inside out And we point them away from the big sky Put your eye right up to the glass, now And here we'll find the constellation of the heart
The constellation of the heart The constellation of the heart
We take all the telescopes And we turn them inside out And we point them away from the big sky Put your eye right up to the glass, now And here we'll find the constellation of the heart
The constellation of the heart The constellation of the heart
Well we think you'd better wake up capt'n There's something happen'n up ahead We've never seen anything like it We've never seen anything like it before
I want a full report That's it What do you mean, "That's it?" That's all you get You'd better do something 'bout it What am I supposed to do about it? We don't know, but you can't run away from it Maybe you'd better face it I can't do that C'mon face it! I can't do that C'mon, c'mon face it What am I gonna do? It is gonna hurt, it is gonna hurt me bad?
Ooh here's the constellation of the heart
Who said anything about it hurting? It's gonna be beautiful It's gonna be wonderful It's gonna be paradise
(Just being alive, it can really hurt...) Ooh find me the man with the ladder And he might lift me up to the stars
(Without the pain there'd be no learning Without the hurting we'd never change.)
Oooh and if you see the woman with the key I hear she's opening up the doors to Heaven Oh and here comes the man with the stick He said he'd fish me out of the moon
Ohoh here's the constellation of the heart It is the constellation of the heart
Oh yes it is the constellation of the heart

Lonely and Blue
written by Brooks, Razaf & Waller
Old empty bed, springs hard as lead, Something I said made you see red. What did I do to feel so lonely and blue?
Even the mouse, up and ran from the house, Laughed at me so scornfully. What did I do to feel this lonely and blue?
I cried and I sighed, But that don’t help my game, no, no, no, no. I tried to hide But things don’t seem the same, oh
How will it end? I ain’t got no friend. My only sin is in your grin. Oh what did I do to feel this lonely and blue?
I cried and I sighed, But that don’t, don’t help my game. I tried to hide, Things don’t seem the same, oh
How will it end? Ain’t got no friend. My only sin was in your grin. Oh, what did I do to feel so lonely and blue? Oh yeah

Saving Grace lyrics by Everlast
One time around the block two times around the clock three times don't cross the little lady
So pretty and oh so bold got a heart full of gold on a lonely road she said "I don't even think that God can save me"
(Am I) gaining ground (Am I) losing face (Am I) lost and found by Saving Grace Thankful for the gift my Angel's gave me
Born alone We die alone nuttin' but sittin' here by the phone waitin for the Lord to send my callin'
Street wise from the boulevard Jesus only knows that she tries too hard She's only tryin' to keep the sky from fallin'
Any man says it's Heaven and Hell Prob'ly got somethin' useless to sell You ask me if I'm saved but what's it to ya?
Blow a quarter cop another eight you're runnin' out of hide you're losin' your faith Throw your hands up and scream halleluiah halleluiah halleluiah halleluiah halleluiah Amen
One time around the sun another year older and my work ain't done it's time for me to write the final chapter
Deal the cards and roll the dice sex drugs and rock'n roll are my only vice tryin' to figure out just what's here after
halleluiah halleluiah halleluiah halleluiah halleluiah halleluiah Amen

Carole King - So Far Away
So far away, doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore? It would be so fine to see your face at my door Doesn't help to know you're just time away
Long ago I reached for you and there you stood Holding you again could only do me good How I wish I could, but you're so far away
One more song about movin' along the highway Can't say much of anything that's new If I could only work this life out my way I'd rather spend in bein' close to you.
But you're so far away, doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore It would be so fine to see your face at my door Doesn't help to know you're so far away...

The Pearl
Artist: Emmylou Harris Album: Red Dirt Girl
(Emmylou Harris)
O the dragons are gonna fly tonight They're circling low and inside tonight It's another round in the losing fight Out along the great divide tonight
We are aging soldiers in an ancient war Seeking out some half-remembered shore We drink our fill and still we thirst for more Asking if there's no heaven what is this hunger for?
Our path is worn our feet are poorly shod We lift up our prayer against the odds And fear the silence is the voice of God
And we cry Allelujah Allelujah We cry Allelujah
Sorrow is constant and the joys are brief The seasons come and bring no sweet relief Time is a brutal but a careless thief Who takes our lot but leaves behind the grief
It is the heart that kills us in the end Just one more old broken bone that cannot mend As it was now and ever shall be amen
And we cry Allelujah Allelujah We cry Allelujah
So there'll be no guiding light for you and me We are not sailors lost out on the sea We were always headed toward eternity Hoping for a glimpse of Galilee
Like falling stars from the universe we are hurled Down through the long loneliness of the world Until we behold the pain become the pearl
Crying Allelujah Allelujah We cry Allelujah
And we cry Allelujah Allelujah We cry Allelujah

Artist: Black Clint Song: No Time to Kill Album: No Time To Kill
There's no time to kill between the cradle and the grave Father Time still takes a toll on every minute that you save Legal tender's never gonna change the number on your days The highest cost of livin's dyin', that's one everybody pays So have it spent before you get the bill, there's no time to kill
If we'd known ten years ago today would be ten years from now Would we spend tomorrow's yesterdays and make it last somehow Or lead the cheers in someone else's game and never learn to play And see the rules of thumb are all the same that measure every day The grass is green on both sides of the hill, there's no time to kill
No time to kill, even I've said it, and probably always will But I can look ahead and see that time ain't standin' still No time to kill but time to change the kind of hurry I've been in And quit this work and worry lookin' back at where I've been If you don't look ahead nobody will, there's no time to kill
If we had an hour glass to watch each one go by Or a bell to mark each one to pass, we'd see just how they fly Would we escalate the value to be worth its weight in gold Or would we never know the fortunes that we had 'til we grow old And do we just keep killin' time until there's no time to kill
No time to kill, even I've said it and probably always will But I can look ahead and see that time ain't standin' still No time to kill but time to change the kind of hurry I've been in And quit this work and worry lookin' back at where I've been If you don't look ahead nobody will, there's no time to kill
No time to kill, even I've said it and probably always will But I can look ahead and see that time ain't standin' still No time to kill but time to change the kind of hurry I've been in And quit this work and worry lookin' back at where I've been If you don't look ahead nobody will, there's no time to kill
No time to kill No time to kill No time to kill

Fall On Me
Artist(Band):R.E.M. (Berry/Buck/Mills/Stipe)
There's a problem, feathers iron Bargain buildings, weights and pullies Feathers hit the ground before the weight can leave the air Buy the sky and sell the sky and tell the sky and tell the sky
(chorus) Fall on me (what is it up in the air for) (it's gonna fall) Fall on me (if it's there for long) (it's gonna fall) Fall on me (it's over it's over me) (it's gonna fall)
There's the progress we have found (when the rain) A way to talk around the problem (when the children reign) Building towered foresight (keep your conscience in the dark) Isn't anything at all (melt the statues in the park) Buy the sky and sell the sky and bleed the sky and tell the sky
(repeat chorus)
Fall on me
Well I could keep it above But then it wouldn't be sky anymore So if I send it to you you've got to promise to keep it whole
Buy the sky and sell the sky and lift your arms up to the sky And ask the sky and ask the sky
(repeat chorus 2x)
Fall on me
(repeat chorus)
Fall on me
(repeat chorus)

Right Said Fred (Cup of Tea) (Myles Rudge, lyrics & Ted Dicks, music)
"Right," said Fred, "Both of us together One on each end and steady as we go." Tried to shift it, couldn't even lift it We was getting nowhere And so we had a cuppa tea and
"Right," said Fred, "Give a shout for Charlie." Up comes Charlie from the floor below. After strainin', heavin' and complainin' We was getting nowhere And so we had a cuppa tea.
And Charlie had a think, and he thought we ought to take off all the handles And the things wot held the candles. But it did no good, well I never thought it would "All right," said Fred, "Have to take the feet off To get them feet off wouldn't take a mo."
Took its feet off, even took the seat off Should have got us somewhere but no! So Fred said, "Let's have a cuppa tea." And we said, "right-o."
"Right," said Fred, "Have to take the door off Need more space to shift the so-and-so." Had bad twinges taking off the hinges And it got us nowhere And so we had a cuppa tea and
"Right," said Fred, " Have to take the wall down, That there wall is gonna have to go." Took the wall down, even with it all down We was getting nowhere And so we had a cuppa tea.
And Charlie had a think, and he said, "Look, Fred, I get a sort of feelin' If we remove the ceilin' With a rope or two we could drop the blighter through."
"All right," said Fred, climbing up a ladder With his crowbar gave a mighty blow. Was he in trouble, half a ton of rubble landed on the top of his dome. So Charlie and me had another cuppa tea And then we went home.
(I said to Charlie, "We'll just have to leave it Standing on the landing, that's all Trouble with Fred is, he's too hasty Never get nowhere if you're too hasty.")
