Touch of Grey lyrics by Grateful Dead
Must be getting early Clocks are running late Faint light of the morning sky looks so phony Dawn is breaking everywhere Light a candle, curse the glare Draw the curtains, I don't care, cuz It's alright
I will get by I will get by I will get by I will survive
I see you've got your fist out Say your piece and get out Yes I get the gist of it, but It's alright Sorry that you feel that way The only thing there is to say: Every silver lining's got a touch of grey
I will get by I will get by I will get by I will survive
It's a lesson to me The eagles and the beggars and the seas The ABC's we all must face Try to keep a little grace
It's a lesson to me The deltas and the east and the freeze The ABC's we all think of And try to win a little love
I know the rent is in arrears The dog has not been fed in years It's even worse than it appears, but It's alright Cows giving kerosene Kid can't read at seventeen The words he knows are all obscene, but It's alright
I will get by I will get by I will get by I will survive
The shoe is on the hand that fits. There's really nothing much to it Whistle through your teeth and spit, cuz It's alright Oh well, a touch of grey Kinda suits you anyway And that was all I had to say, and It's alright
I will get by I will get by I will get by I will survive
We will get by We will get by We will get by We will survive
We will get by We will get by We will get by We will survive

STEALIN TIME Gerry Rafferty
Stealin’ time, I’ve been stealin’ time But I don’t feel guilty, cause the time was mine I kept down low, kept down low I walked right out, I had to let it go.
Stealin’ time, I’ve been stealin’ time Forgot about everything and eased my mind Stealin’ time, I was stealin’ time But now I know it’s time to cross that line.
I watched the sky, watched the sky Every day I let the world roll by Sun and rain, sun and the rain It felt so good to know that magic again.
Stealin’ time, I’ve been stealin’ time Forgot about everything and eased my mind Stealin’ time, I was stealin’ time But now I know it’s time to cross that line.
Wait my love, wait my love We’ll soon be brighter than the sun up above Wait and see, wait and see Forget about everything except you and me.
Stealin’ time, I’ve been stealin’ time Forgot about everything and eased my mind Stealin’ time, I was stealin’ time But now I know it’s time to cross that line.
(fade) Roll on, cross that line, been so long, stealin’ time Roll on, cross that line, been so long, stealin’ time.

Oxygen lyrics by Colbie Caillat
I came apart inside a world made of angry people I found a boy who had a dream Making everyone smile He was sunshine I fell over my feet Like bricks underwater
How am I supposed to tell you how I feel I need oxygen Oh baby if I was your lady I would make you happy Never gonna leave, never gonna leave Oh baby can I be your lady I am going crazy for you
And so I found a state of mind Where I could be speechless I had to try it for a while To figure out this feeling This felt so right Pull me upside down to a place Where you've been waiting
How am I supposed to tell you how I feel I need oxygen Oh baby can I be your lady I would make you happy I'm never gonna leave, Never gonna leave Oh baby can I be your lady I am going crazy for you
You don't wanna keep me waiting Staring at my fingers feeling like a fool
Oh baby can I be your lady I am going crazy I'm never gonna leave, Never gonna leave Oh baby if I was your lady I would make you happy, yeah-ohhhh
Tell me what you want, Baby tell me what you need Anything I ask baby give it to me Baby give it to me, give it to me
Give it to me, give it to me Baby give it to me give it to me

Tailor Made lyrics by Colbie Caillat
Twenty-five, All of these mixed emotions, Tangled up in pure confusion, It’s hard to let go of the past, but it seems, Easier as time is moving, Well you said he makes you laugh, And he makes you happy, He sees you smiling back, It is everlasting, And so he’s tailor made for you, With stunning golden hues, And one sweet tone to soothe, Your persistent beating heart it’s just a start, And I, have seen you everyday, You’ve never been like this before, He’s tailor made, tailor, tailor made, So let go all of these mixed emotions, Forget all your hesitations, Together entwined inside this feeling, Feet off the ground, head hits ceiling, Then he whispered in your ear, He’s absolutely falling, The words he said are clear, So don’t insist on stalling Because he’s tailor made for you, With stunning golden hues, And one sweet tone to soothe, Your persistent beating heart it’s just a start, And I, have seen you everyday, You’ve never been like this before, He’s tailor made, Oh sister, don’t be troubled, Oh sister, please be calm, Cause this isn’t, what you’re used to, at all, He’s tailor made for you, With stunning golden hues, And one sweet tone to soothe, Your persistent beating heart it’s just a start, And I, have seen you everyday, You’ve never been like this before, He’s tailor made, tailor, tailor made
*This young lady is the BOMB! Give her music a listen, you'll not be disappointed! Her Coco cd, reminds me of Norah Jones freshman cd...

Mrs Bartolozzi Kate Bush
I remember it was that Wednesday Oh when it rained and it rained They traipsed mud all over the house It took hours and hours to scrub it out All over the hall carpet I took my mop and my bucket And I cleaned and I cleaned The kitchen floor Until it sparkled Then I took my laundry basket And put all the linen in it And everything I could fit in it All our dirty clothes that hadn't gone into the wash And all your shirts and jeans and things And put them in the new washing machine Washing machine Washing machine
I watched them going 'round and 'round My blouse wrapping itself around your trousers Oh the waves are going out My skirt floating up around my waist As I wade out into the surf Oh and the waves are coming in Oh and the waves are going out Oh and you're standing right behind me Little fish swim between my legs Oh and the waves are coming in Oh and the waves are going out Oh and the waves are coming in Out of the corner of my eye I think I see you standing outside But it's just your shirt Hanging on the washing line Waving it's arm as the wind blows by And it looks so alive Nice and white Just like it's climbed right out of my washing machine Washing machine Washing machine
Slooshy sloshy slooshy sloshy Get that dirty shirty clean Slooshy sloshy slooshy sloshy Make those cuffs and collars gleam Everything clean and shiny
Washing machine Washing machine Washing machine

In the Forest by Van Morrison
By the sacred grove where the waters flow We will come and go in the forest
In the summer rain we will meet again We will learn the code of the ancient ones In the forest
By the waterfall I will hold you in my arms We will meet again by the leafy glade In the shade of the forest
With your long robes on we will surely roam By the ancient roads I will take you home To the forest
In the forest in the forest In the forest in the forest
With your long robes on we will surely roam By the ancient roads I will take you home again To the forest
Satisfy the soul baby Birds sing all day long of the mother lode We can let it roll in the forest
With your long robes on I know where you're coming from By the big oak tree you've gotta come and go with me
In the forest in the forest In the forest in the forest
By the waterfall I will hold you in my arms and we will meet again By the leafy shade in the, in the forest
Satisfy the soul Birds sing all day long of the mother lode We can surely let it roll in the forest
With your long robes on I know where you're coming from We will surely roam down by the ancient roads

Apologize
I’m holding on your rope, Got me ten feet off the ground I’m hearin what you say but I just can’t make a sound You tell me that you need me Then you go and cut me down, but wait You tell me that you’re sorry Didn’t think I’d turn around, and say…
It’s too late to apologize, it’s too late I said it’s too late to apologize, it’s too late
I’d take another chance, take a fall Take a shot for you And I need you like a heart needs a beat But it’s nothin new I loved you with a fire red- Now it’s turning blue, and you say… “Sorry” like the angel heaven let me think was you But I’m afraid…
It’s too late to apologize, it’s too late I said it’s too late to apologize, it’s too late
Bridge (guitar/piano)
It’s too late to apologize, it’s too late I said it’s too late to apologize, it’s too late It’s too late to apologize, yeah I said it’s too late to apologize, yeah- I’m holdin on your rope, got me ten feet off the ground…

Alan Watts Blues by Van Morrison
Well I'm taking some time with my quiet friend Well I'm takin' some time on my own. Well I'm makin' some plans for my getaway There'll be blue skies shining up above When I'm cloud hidden Cloud hidden Whereabouts unknown
Well I've got to get out of the rat-race now I'm tired of the ways of mice and men And the empires all turning into rust again. Out of everything nothing remains the same That's why I'm cloud hidden Cloud hidden Whereabouts unknown
Sittin' up on the mountain-top in my solitude Where the morning fog comes rollin' in Just might do me some good.
Well I'm waiting in the clearing with my motor on Well it's time to get back to the town again Where the air is sweet and fresh in the countryside Well it won't be long before I get back here again.

Mrs Bartolozzi followed by lyrics Kate Bush I bought the CD this song comes from ( Aerial) recently. Kate Bush's poetry and music is really pretty special. It is great the way she brings her child into the lyrics of a couple of the songs. I liked the one about the architect's dream, and the one with the birdsong and laughter, too.

Going to a Town Rufus Wainwright
I'm gonna make it up for all of the Sunday Times I'm gonna make it up for all of the nursery rhymes They never really seem to want to tell the truth I'm so tired of you America
Making my own way home Ain't gonna be alone I got a life to lead America I got a life to lead
Tell me do you really think you go to hell for having loved? Tell me and not for thinking every thing that you've done is good (I really need to know) After soaking the body of Jesus Christ in blood
I'm so tired of America (I really need to know)
I may just never see you again or might as well You took advantage of a world that loved you well I'm going to a town that has already been burned down I'm so tired of you America
Making my own way home Ain't gonna be alone I got a life to lead America I got a life to lead I got a soul to feed I got a dream to heed And that's all I need
Making my own way home Ain't gonna be alone I'm going to a town that has already been burned down

Symphony in blue By Kate Bush
I spent a lot of my time looking at blue, The colour of my room and my mood: Blue on the walls, blue out of my mouth; The sort of blue between clouds, when the sun comes out, The sort of blue in those eyes you get hung up about.
When that feeling of meaninglessness sets in, Go blowing my mind on God: The light in the dark, with the neon arms, The meek He seeks, the beast He calms, The head of the good soul department.
I see myself suddenly On the piano, as a melody. My terrible fear of dying No longer plays with me, for now I know that I'm needed For the symphony.
I associate love with red, The colour of my heart when she's dead; Red in my mind when the jealousy flies, Red in my eyes from emotional ties, Manipulation, the danger signs.
The more I think about sex, the better it gets. Here we have a purpose in life: Good for the blood circulation, Good for releasing the tension, The root of our reincarnations.
I see myself suddenly On the piano, as a melody. My terrible fear of dying No longer plays with me, for now I know that I'm needed For the symphony.
I spent a lot of my time looking at blue-- No wonder that I blue it!

CARRIE UNDERWOOD LYRICS
"Before He Cheats"
Right now he's probably slow dancing with a bleach blond tramp, and she's probably getting frisky... right now, he's probably buying her some fruity little drink cause she can't shoot whiskey...
Right now, he's probably up behind her with a pool-stick, showing her how to shoot a combo...
And he don't know...
That I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped up 4 wheel drive, carved my name into his leather seats... I took a Louisville slugger to both headlights, slashed a hole in all 4 tires...
Maybe next time he'll think before he cheats.
Right now, she's probably up singing some white-trash version of Shania karaoke.. Right now, she's probably saying "I'm drunk" and he's a thinking that he's gonna get lucky, Right now, he's probably dabbing on 3 dollars worth of that bathroom polo... And he don't know...
That I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped up 4 wheel drive, carved my name into his leather seats, I took a Louisville slugger to both headlights, slashed a hole in all 4 tires...
Maybe next time he'll think before he cheats.
I might've saved a little trouble for the next girl, Cause the next time that he cheats...
Oh, you know it won't be on me!
No...not on me 'Cause I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped up 4 wheel drive, carved my name into his leather seats... I took a Louisville slugger to both headlights, slashed a hole in all 4 tires...
Maybe next time he'll think before he cheats.
Oh.. Maybe next time he'll think before he cheats...
Ohh... before he cheats...

Kodachrome Paul Simon
When I think back On all the crap I learned in high school It's a wonder I can think at all And though my lack of edu---cation Hasn't hurt me none I can read the writing on the wall
Kodachrome They give us those nice bright colors They give us the greens of summers Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, Oh yeah I got a Nikon camera I love to take a photograph So mama don't take my Kodachrome away
If you took all the girls I knew When I was single And brought them all together for one night I know they'd never match my sweet imagination everything looks WORSE in black and white
Kodachrome They give us those nice bright colors They give us the greens of summers Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, Oh yeah I got a Nikon camera I love to take a photograph So mama don't take my Kodachrome away
Mama don't take my Kodachrome away Mama don't take my Kodachrome away Mama don't take my Kodachrome away
Mama don't take my Kodachrome Mama don't take my Kodachrome Mama don't take my Kodachrome away
Mama don't take my Kodachrome Leave your boy so far from home Mama don't take my Kodachrome away Mama don't take my Kodachrome
Mama don't take my Kodachrome away

All The Diamonds In The World by Bruce Cockburn
All the diamonds in this world That mean anything to me Are conjured up by wind and sunlight Sparkling on the sea
I ran aground in a harbour town Lost the taste for being free Thank God He sent some gull-chased ship To carry me to sea
Two thousand years and half a world away Dying trees still grow greener when you pray
Silver scales flash bright and fade In reeds along the shore Like a pearl in sea of liquid jade His ship comes shining Like a crystal swan in a sky of suns His ship comes shining.

Plain White T's Write You A Song Lyrics I don't know how to make lots of money I got debts that I'm trying to pay I can't buy you nice things, like big diamond rings But that don't mean much anyway I can't give you the house you've been dreaming If I could I would build it alone I'd be out there all day, just hammering away Make us a place of our own I will write you a song That's how you'll know that my love is still strong I will write you a song And you'll know from this song that I just can't go on without you I don't know that I'd make a good soldier I don't believe in being violent and cruel I don't know how to fight, but I'll draw blood tonight If somebody tries hurting you tonight I will write you a song That's how you'll know that my love is still strong I will write you a song And you'll know from this song that I just can't go on without you Now that it's out on the table (it's out on the table) Both of us knew all along (knew all along) I've got your loving and you've got my song I don't know how to make lots of money I don't know all the right things to do I can't say where we'll go, but the one thing I know Is how to be a good man to you Until I die that's what I'll do I will write you a song That's how you'll know that my love is still strong I will write you a song And you'll know from this song that I just can't go on without I will write you a song (I will write you a song) That's how you'll know that my love is still strong (love is still strong) I will write you a song And you know from this song that I just can't go on without you www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYQdraWC1U0

lonely September I'm sittin' here all by myself just tryin' to think of something to do Tryin' to think of something, anything just to keep me from thinking of you But you know it's not working out 'cause you're all that's on my mind One thought of you is all it takes to leave the rest of the world behind Oh, I didn't mean for this to go as far as it did And I didn't mean to get so close and share what we did And I didn't mean to fall in love, but I did And you didn't mean to love me back but I know you did I'm sittin' here tryin' to convince myself that you're not the one for me But the more I think, the less I believe it and the more I want you here with me You know the holidays are coming up I don't want to spend them alone Memories of Christmas time with you would just kill me if I'm on my own Oh, I didn't mean for this to go as far as it did And I didn't mean to get so close and share what we did And I didn't mean to fall in love, but I did And you didn't mean to love me back I know it's not the smartest thing to do we just can't seem to get it right But what I wouldn't give to have one more chance tonight one more chance tonight I'm sittin' here tryin' to entertain myself with this old guitar But with all my inspiration gone it's not getting me very far I look around my room and everything I see reminds me of you Oh please, baby won't you take my hand we've got nothing left to prove Oh, I didn't mean for this to go as far as it did And I didn't mean to get so close and share what we did And I didn't mean to fall in love, but I did And you didn't mean to love me back but I know you did And I didn't mean to meet you then when we were just kids And I didn't mean to give you chills the way that I kiss And I didn't mean to fall in love, but I did And you didn't mean to love me back but I know you did Don't say you didn't love me back 'cause you know you did No, you didn't mean to love me back But you did www.youtube.com/watch?v=25Kh9uY-6ZE

PLAIN WHITE T'S LYRICS "Hey There Delilah" Hey there Delilah What's it like in New York City? I'm a thousand miles away But girl, tonight you look so pretty Yes you do Times Square can't shine as bright as you I swear it's true Hey there Delilah Don't you worry about the distance I'm right there if you get lonely Give this song another listen Close your eyes Listen to my voice, it's my disguise I'm by your side Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me What you do to me Hey there Delilah I know times are getting hard But just believe me, girl Someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar We'll have it good We'll have the life we knew we would My word is good Hey there Delilah I've got so much left to say If every simple song I wrote to you Would take your breath away I'd write it all Even more in love with me you'd fall We'd have it all Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me A thousand miles seems pretty far But they've got planes and trains and cars I'd walk to you if I had no other way Our friends would all make fun of us and we'll just laugh along because we know That none of them have felt this way Delilah I can promise you That by the time we get through The world will never ever be the same And you're to blame Hey there Delilah You be good and don't you miss me Two more years and you'll be done with school And I'll be making history like I do You'll know it's all because of you We can do whatever we want to Hey there Delilah here's to you This one's for you Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me What you do to me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbJtYqBYCV8

Reasonland by Antje Duvekot
The Reasonland's emperor came down To the water's edge and said, "I don't know where I'm bound I've got emeralds and rubies sewn into my gown But I am sadder than the diamonds in my crown
So will you lay me down in a fiddler's cloud And float me out to sea Let my aching head be still, let me surrender to your will Float me out and deliver me"
A mighty king came down to the sea Said, "I may win any battle that I please I got a hundred-man batallion, they all fall down at my feet But there’s a songbird who will not sing for me
So will you lay me down in a fiddler's cloud And float me out to sea Let my aching head be still, let me surrender to your will Float me out and deliver me
I wanna fly out to your center I wanna sink down into your core I wanna go down without my dagger I wanna shed these clothes"
The preacher's wife kneeled down by the waves Said, "For your love and salvation I have prayed I am a tired tightrope dancer, I wanna go no more this way Just give me something, a penny for my faith
So will you lay me down in a fiddler's cloud And float me out to sea Let my aching head be still, let me surrender to your will Float me out and deliver me
Will you lay me down, won't you lay me down And float me out to sea Let my aching head be still, let me surrender to your will Float me out and deliver me"

Where have all the Cowboys gone? Paula Cole
oh you get me ready in your 56 chevy Why don't we go sit down in the shade Take shelter on my front porch The dandy lion sun scorching, Like a glass of cold lemonade I will do the laundry if you pay all the bills
CHORUS:
Where is my John Wayne Where is my prairie son Where is my happy ending Where have all the cowboys gone
Why don't you stay the evening Kick back and watch the TV And I'll fix a little something to eat Oh I know your back hurts from working on the tractor How do you take your coffee my sweet I will raise the children if you pay all the bills
Chorus
I am wearing my new dress tonight But you don't, but you don't even notice me Say our goodbyes Say our goodbyes Say our goodbyes
We finally sold the chevy When we had another baby And you took the job in tennessee You made friends at the farm And you joined them at the bar Almost every single day of the week I will wash the dishes while you go have a beer
Chorus
Where is my Marlboro man Where is his shiny gun Where is my lonely ranger Where have all the cowboys gone Where have all the cowboys gone Where have all the cowboys gone
Yippee aw, yippee yea (6 times)

~Into The Ocean~
lyrics by a band out of Texas known as Blue October
~*~
I'm just a normal boy That sank when I fell overboard My ship would leave the country But I'd rather swim ashore
Without a life vest I'd be stuck again Wish I was much more masculine Maybe then I could learn to swim Like 'fourteen miles away'
Now floating up and down I spin, colliding into sound Like whales beneath me diving down I'm sinking to the bottom of my Everything that freaks me out The lighthouse beam has just run out I'm cold as cold as cold can be be
I want to swim away but don't know how Sometimes it feels just like I'm falling in the ocean Let the waves up take me down Let the hurricane set in motion... yeah Let the rain of what I feel right now...come down Let the rain come down
Where is the coastguard I keep looking each direction For a spotlight, give me something I need something for protection Maybe flotsam junk will do just fine the jetsam sunk, I'm left behind I'm treading for my life believe me (How can I keep up this breathing)
Not knowing how to think I scream aloud, begin to sink My legs and arms are broken down With envy for the solid ground I'm reaching for the life within me How can one man stop his ending I thought of just your face Relaxed, and floated into space
I want to swim away but don't know how Sometimes it feels just like I'm falling in the ocean Let the waves up take me down Let the hurricane set in motion... yeah Let the rain of what I feel right now...come down Let the rain come down Let the rain come down
Now waking to the sun I calculate what I had done Like jumping from the bow (yeah) Just to prove I knew how (yeah) It's midnight's late reminder of The loss of her, the one I love My will to quickly end it all Set front row in my need to fall
Into the ocean, end it all Into the ocean, end it all Into the ocean, end it all into the ocean...end it all
[Zayra] Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye)
I want to swim away but don't know how Sometimes it feels just like I'm falling in the ocean Let the waves up take me down Let the hurricane set in motion (yeah) Let the rain of what I feel right now...come down Let the rain come down Let the rain come down
Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) (In to space) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) (I thought of just your face) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye)
*course, when I sing it, I change boy to girl and masculine to feminine and her to him...

White Wedding lyrics by Billy Idol
Hey little sister what have you done Hey little sister who's the only one Hey little sister who's your superman Hey little sister who's the one you want Hey little sister shot gun!
It's a nice day to start again It's a nice day for a white wedding It's a nice day to start again.
Hey little sister who is your with Hey little sister what's your vice and wish? Hey little sister shot gun (oh yeah) Hey little sister who's your superman Hey little sister shot gun!
It's a nice day to start again (come on) It's a nice day for a white wedding It's a nice day to start again.
(Pick it up)
Take me back home
Hey little sister what have you done Hey little sister who's the only one I've been away for so long (so long) I've been away for so long (so long) I let you go for so long
It's a nice day to start again (come on) It's a nice day for a white wedding It's a nice day to start again.
There is nothin' fair in this world There is nothin' safe in this world And there's nothin' sure in this world And there's nothin' pure in this world Look for something left in this world Start again
Come on It's a nice day for a white wedding It's a nice day to start again. It's a nice day for a white wedding It's a nice day to start again

Let 'Em In (Back In The World version) lyrics by Paul McCartney of The Beatles
Someone's knocking at the door Somebody's ringing the bell Someone's knocking at the door Somebody's ringing the bell Do me a favor Open the door and let me, let them in now
Someone's knocking at the door Somebody's ringing the bell Someone's knocking at the door Somebody's ringing the bell Do me a favor Open the door and let me, yeah yeah now, let them in
Sister Suzie, brother John Martin Luther, Phil and Don Brother Michael, auntie Gin Open the door and let me in, oh yeah yeah
Oh Oh
Oh now, sister Suzie, brother John Martin Luther, and Phil and Don Brother Mary, auntie Gin Just open the door and let me in, oh yeah yeah
Someone's knocking at the door Somebody's ringing the bell Someone's knocking at the door Somebody's ringing the bell And do me a favor Won't you open that door and let me in, oh let them in, let them in, let them in, let them
Oh
Well now, sister Suzie, and brother John And Martin Luther, and Phil and Don, yeah yeah Our holy Mary, and auntie Gin Just open the door and let me in, oh yeah yeah
Well, someone's knocking at the door Somebody's ringing the bell Someone's knocking at the door Somebody's ringing the bell And do me a favor Won't you open that door and let them in, oh no no, come on, let them in, let them in
(Ooh ooh Ooh ooh Ooh ooh Ooh ooh Ooh ooh Ooh ooh Ooh ooh) Someone's knocking at the door (Ooh ooh) Come on Come on let them in Oh let them in, let them in, let them in, yeah Oh yeah

Heart of the Matter by Don Henley
I got the call today, I didn't wanna hear But I knew that it would come An old, true friend of ours was talkin on the phone She said you'd found someone And I thought of all the bad luck, And the struggles we went through And how I lost me and you lost you
What are these voices outside love's open door Make us throw off our contentment And beg for something more? I'm learning to live without you now But I miss you sometimes The more I know, the less I understand All the things I thought I knew, I'm learning again
I've been tryin to get down To the heart of the matter But my will gets weak And my thoughts seem to scatter But I think its about forgiveness Forgiveness Even if, even if you don't love me anymore
These times are so uncertain There's a yearning undefined And people filled with rage We all need a little tenderness How can love survive in such a graceless age? The trust and self-assurance that lead to happiness They're the very things we kill, I guess
Pride and competition Cannot fill these empty arms And the work I put between us You know it doesn't keep me warm I'm learning to live without you now But I miss you And the more I know, the less I understand All the things I thought I'd figured out I have to learn again
I've been trying to get down To the heart of the matter But everything changes And my friends seem to scatter But I think it's about forgiveness Forgiveness Even if, even if you don't love me anymore
There are people in your life who've come and gone They let you down, you know they hurt your pride You better put it all behind you, life goes on You keep carryin that anger, it'll eat you up inside
I've been trying to get down To the heart of the matter But my will gets weak And my thought seem to scatter But I think its about forgiveness Forgiveness Even if, even if you don't love me
I've been tryin to get down To the heart of the matter Because the flesh will get weak And the ashes will scatter So I'm thinkin about forgiveness Forgiveness Even if, even if you don't love me
Forgiveness Forgiveness Forgiveness Forgiveness Forgiveness Forgiveness
Even if, you don't love me anymore

Maybe Words and music by Jesse Cook © 2002
Verse 1
I see you walking down the street
I look at you, you look at me
And in that moment that we greet
I drift away
Standing in the evening sun
Your eyes look tender, arms look strong (then they're gone?)
And how I wish that I belonged
But I don't say
Chorus
That maybe I'm the one you seek
And maybe you and I could speak
And maybe we could start to see
If only this wasn't just my dream
Verse 2
I'm standing waiting in the sun
I'm hoping that you'll come along
I've been here almost every day
But you don't show
I see you walking down the street
I look at you, you look at me
And in that moment maybe we
Could drift away
repeat chorus

And someday soon Ill wake And find my heart wont have to break Yes Im lost without your love Life without you isnt worth the trouble of All I want is just the way it used to be I need you here with me Oh darlin cant you see... If we had love before We can have it back once more

Bread Song: Baby I'm-A Want You www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RgrSAtrNm8Baby, I'm-a want you Baby, I'm-a need you You the only one I care enough to hurt about Maybe I'm-a crazy But I just can't live without... Your lovin' and affection Givin' me direction Like a guiding light to help me through a darkest hour Lately I'm a-prayin' That you'll always be a-stayin' beside me Used to be my life was just emotions passing by Feeling all the while and never really knowing why... Lately I'm a-prayin' That you'll always be a-stayin' beside me. Used to be my life was just emotions passing by Then you came along and made me laugh And made me cry... You taught me why... Baby, I'm-a want you Baby, I'm-a need you Oh, it took so long to find you, baby Baby, I'm-a want you Baby, I'm-a need you

Everything I Own - Bread www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCAZMUy7lYEYou sheltered me from harm Kept me warm, kept me warm You gave my life to me Set me free, set me free The finest years I ever knew Were all the years I had with you And... (Chorus:) I would give anything I own Give up my life, my heart, my home I would give ev'rything I own Just to have you back again You taught me how to love What it's of, what it's of You never said too much But still you showed the way And I knew from watching you Nobody else could ever know The part of me that can't let go And... (Repeat chorus) (Bridge:) Is there someone you know You're loving them so But taking them all for granted? You may lose them one day Someone takes them away And they don't hear The words you long to say (Repeat chorus) Just to touch you once again

I heard on the news today that Dan Fogelberg had died of cancer at age 56. Quite sad to hear.
Back in the 80s I used to listen to him a lot. Twin Sons of Different Mothers was a jazz/soft rock/instrumental fusion that was one of my favorites back then. The Innocent Age was probably his masterpiece work. I'm not sure how many instruments he played on that album. Too many to count. A singular musical talent.
Here are the words to one of his more popular songs, probably one of the most often played wedding songs of the 80s:
Longer by Dan Fogelberg
Longer than There’ve been fishes in the ocean Higher than Any bird ever flew Longer than There’ve been stars up in the heavens I’ve been in love with you.
Stronger than any mountain cathedral Truer than any tree ever grew Deeper than any forest primeval I am in love with you.
I’ll bring fires in the winters You’ll send showers in the springs We’ll fly through the falls and summers With love on our wings.
Through the years as the fire starts to mellow Burning lines in the book of our lives Though the binding cracks And the pages start to yellow I’ll be in love with you.
Longer than there’ve been fishes in the ocean Higher than any bird ever flew Longer than there’ve been stars up in the heavens I’ve been in love with you I am in love with you..
