Here is where I die but not yet not for another 46 years as I am planning to walk this earth until, at least, the age of 104, something I prophesied in a poem I wrote when I was 26, when I proclaimed that my life was 1/4 done then realized it two years later reading over my words and have claimed it ever since! Regarless of my lack of luck in LOVE I shall persist, because romance is not all of what life consists!

The next best thing to you, honey, is maple syrup. Thick, delicious and aromatic. I could chug it straight from the bottle Instead, I'll save it for this stack of pancakes.

Pancakes, I haven't cooked any in a while, a piece of toast and an egg over easy, more my style. But I wish I had a lover to cook for and more, but alas it's not to be, evermore!

Alas, it's not to be evermore.
I exist within these pages, but the paper's come to an end Our happily-ever-after just wasn't meant to be, my friend The pages all have stopped, and the story's left forgotten Unfinished, unloved, uncared for; now it's rotten.
We were meant to be forever. We were bonded by the heart. But somewhere in the mess we made, we've drifted far apart.
I used to wait at night and watch the shining stars above, hoping for a miracle to save our star-crossed love But one by one, the stars blinked out, snuffed out like candlelight And all my dreams of us together have long since taken flight.
The days of happiness by your side are but a distant memory, Slowly slipping into a puddle of filthy blackened goo where all our smiles sink and wither, with contempt for you.
you, my dearest, beloved friend, you betrayed me.

"You betrayed me.!" O' foolish heart of mine perhaps you leaked a lovesick ooze into all of my smiles her way, seems she barely smiled my way when I saw her briefly today! Does my love make her wish me away that is the heartbreak falling for a straight woman can bring, and the reason, I had no intentions of expressing my feelings except disguised as friendly caring.

Disguised as friendly caring, Her smile said something else. Her words said, "It's nice to see you," but her eyes said, I hate your guts.
I really hate this girl, because she's just so goddamn fake The epitome of high school popular bitch class, One look from her could kill.
Yet still she pretends she likes you, To what- get under your skin? God, I'm glad I got away from her now but I still see her from time to time.
She looks you down and up again, then right into your eyes Your outfit is godawful. "Hi, I didn't expect to see you!" Fake-ass smile, who does she think she's fooling? No amount of forced smiles could mask your cattiness, kid.
I wish she'd just be honest and avoid me at all costs. But no, instead, she has to live an awful lie of friendship.

An awful lie of friendship, it is not I want to be her friend and I would always be the truest most loyal friend she could ever hope to have though she search high and low for one more true because she matters so much to me, it is just that I want to be more than a friend, but as I have stated many a time I would take whatever I could get. Do you know what really kills me? I guess, from appearances, it might look like I don't care that much because I do not go out of my way to see her and I do not make overtures toward becoming closer, as a friend, or anything else, because I am so afraid she wouldn't want to be closer to me, and then our friendly aquaintanceship might be strained, I do so, not want to end up loathing myself for having chased her further away. Actually I did kind of let her know once in a thank you note I left her about something, in ambiguous or indirect words that she was special to me and that I cared a great deal for her, and I might add, further reason to be scared to try to get closer, she never mentioned the note to me ever nor did she take me up on an offer I made in that note. So I have feared to ever press my luck, I can only hope she knows I was sincere not just making empty gestures, and that not putting her in an uncomfortable spot is the only reason, I've made no further attempts to get closer to her.

Closer to her, is what I want, but unfortunately I don't think it is in the cards for me, I seem to have been born under an unlucky star when it comes to the lover kind of love.

When it comes to the lover kind of love People hum and sing about the
Particular type of madness it brings
But love is not a one-flavor ice cream shop
The forms it takes are multiple and subtle
Love can be aimed at anything or anyone
Love just "is." It exists. It is out there.
Friendship is valuable all on its' own Respect is a worthy thing to cultivate Camaraderie can be nurtured
And on and on and on.

On and on and on the poem above said and became my first line
I feel so all alone my inspiration is dead this brain is pickled in brine
Nothing to share worthy of the prior endeavors by my fellow poeteers
My last sentence shall be one of dissonance-
Hot damn! Did you just see that happen?

Did you just see that happen? Another moment of precious time raced by and would not be deterred in it's haste to tag the next moment, why it's almost as if. . . time, and the universe in all it's vastness, doesn't miss a beat over us. . . (the center of the universe, of course!) doesn't ever pause time even for an instant to glance our way. We are loved, we are a part of the whole the universe responds to, as does the pond when we chuchk a rock into it's depths and, as nature takes it's course it brings every topsy turvy ripple back into line eveh=ntually and so it is that we might get what we are needing, what brings us back into harmony with all of life as it goes the way it goes and I don't believe randomly, else it would never have developed this far total disordered chaos would have imploded anihilation long ago, there is law to nature, and so it's course is somewhat predestined.

predestined is this moment it's the one we waited for the moment before, now it's here I don't know what to do with it, my dear and now the moment is gone

now the moment is gone no more time to lie upon our backs watching clouds drift such a spectacle trying to get up from the hard ground can't chase fireflies hardly any left to follow pesticides having decimated them besides running isn't an option anymore unless this life is in danger I don't wonder where all of the time went I know. I lived it endured it loved and hated it instead I wonder how much time I have left and is it enough to fall in love again

To fall in love again, Is not in the cards for me, My heart fell so hard this time that it shall not get back up again! There is no romance in my future! And so, my challenge is, to learn to be happy alone for the duration.

The duration it stumps my imagination what will the unformed blur of the future be when I can finally see, when it becomes the now? I can rack my brain. . . and how and still there will be much that my ponderings will not even touch! The big reveal will come, when the future is now. . . is real!

The future is now; the future is real. The future cares not for how I feel. The future's relentless, the future won't stop The future will drain you until your last drop.
The future is hot, the future is cold. The future will make you all sorts of old. The future will scream, the future will shout The future forgets what you cared about.
The future is wretched, the future is damned Nothing good rhymes with damned FML But I guess that the future has its ups and downs Just like anything else, really.

I guess that the future has its ups and downs, just like anything else, really We've predicted shiny stainless steel cities, we've predicted apocalyptic wasteland
We've predicted interstellar space ships, we've predicted time travel
The future never turns out exactly the way we were told to expect Life is much the same now as it was in 1980, except for the Internet and smartphones
Maybe tomorrow everyone will throw away their wireless tech and go live in communes with their best buddies
Maybe tomorrow some fad will take off and take the world by storm
Maybe tomorrow we will actually, finally build settlements on the moon or Mars
But--
There must be some kind of future we're looking forward to. Otherwise this life is dull and pointless
What kind of a future do you want?

What kind of future do you want? Our friend has queried of us in the above poem. An excellent one, by the way.
Fun, I think it does sound to live in a commune with my favorite people. As long as we didn't become a cult. Or throw up a magnificent steeple.
I agree, other than the advancement of technology, feels like we've been in a loop since the Eighties in a most disturbing, eerie manner. Well there are two of us that have noticed this phenomenon. I wonder, are there more that feel this way?
But, what kind of future do you want? That was the poetical question from which I've digressed. What kind of future do I want?
Initially, and most urgently, I want universal healthcare for all! Poor or rich, young or old, homeless or homed, no one deserves to die or remain ill for the want of medication, a procedure or surgery. After all, this a First World Country. Or so We the People are told...
Equally imperative, I want everyone fed. Every child, woman and man in the nation should have a full belly, access to food that didn't come out of a trashcan or dumpster. No matter ones station in life, if you have a job and can feed yourself and or your family, fine. If you don't, assistance would be readily available to vets; the unemployed; the homeless; families with larger needs. Anyone that's hungry get fed, period.
I'd like to see all of the above, go global. It can be done. It should be done. In the future I envision it will be made so for any and all of humanity.
Least I forget, in the near distant future, I want war to become a downtrend. It is an outdated mode of bullying those countries that have so much less. Look at Syria. Look at Palestine. Look at Croatia and Serbia. And so many other vile examples history has shown.
But, again, I digress. What was the subject? Oh, yes, the future. I also wish to see community college made freely available to any and all. Posthaste on that one, I might add. And did. An educated nation is an aware nation.
As for religion, I'd like to see it put back in its place in the future. Mega churches and their equal ilk should be taxed as of yesterday, preferably. This does not include- community churches, mosques, temples.
About what I'd like to see the future hold there is so much more verbiage I could add. More science! More space travel! More cowbell! More and equal civil rights for all. Everybody!
In the future, abortion wouldn't be a political or religious issue. It would be a legal option, a woman's choice. Fair and balanced taxation of the super rich. Time for them to hitch up and get their tax paying on like the rest of us. Also, in the very near future, I'd like to see cannabis decriminalized, legalize; coal and gas industries tanked, solar and wind energy at the forefront. I could go on and on, again.
But, it's not fake news, I've run out of steam. Now, it's time for you to have your say.
What kind of a future do you want?

What future do I want to see? An end to the eternal circle, The endless rise and fall of society, Pointless wars banished to the past, And people to actually start working together, For the common good of all, A future where the word profit has no meaning.

Woa, baby, that's you and me dreaming if only it were the dream collective then i guess it might be prospective!!! But, you and I both know for some it is a show not sincere carrying the force of will to perservere!!! but keep on believing when folks like us give up we are done with the deceiving!!!

convolve, conform, confirm, contrive con-victs, conviction, convention the whole code, is not dying, it is rewriting, somewhere between will will and won't, if ever we live in a world of substance, the real quest lies in what you can live without most things, most feelings created by a mind, we did not control a mind we were given, given a piece of everyone's mind, just not our own, not us not we are, just supposed to be suppository and that mind keeps company with shit and like a good quantity poo all that ideology, should have a good exit a poo exit, or pexit, always get the shit out, too mant trying to stuff it back in but that is not our mind that is not us, less is not more, more is not needed so much is just horsehit and the solitary us, is more only because it is in the back of some overstuffed closet everyone shoves more into we all could come out of that closet, if we could get past it all we might emerge as babes in the light for once, seeing who we are and we might need a good shower a good wipe and a deep breath....

*CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!*
(I know not your initial inspiration for this piece, beloved Jam, but, as I read, I had tears in my eyes. As it felt like a gentle statement piece for the mental condition of our country. It is deep. Deep stuff, man. As always.)

take a deep breath inhale the universe we share open eyes once blinded see clearly love thy neighbor is an honorable responsible tenet exhale all that is stale in the mind and spirit release tension and useless ideologies that stagnate communication
open those arms once held stiffly across a rigid body envelope engage in your surroundings if not in total understanding with bright tolerance and love invite a stranger to become a friend initiate a conversation
as humans we are all infinitely fragile creatures however our time on this world we've built is finite war is a high dollar whore and it's time to crawl off of that jaded bitch and wrap our collective minds
hearts spirits and energies into healing this planet and its children rebuild what we've torn to splinters bombed to smithereens around the globe promote equanimity and equality for all of the global community

The best way as of today: That's what we're all wondering about, isn't it? What's next?
There's got to be a way, One that's fair for everybody
Everyone agrees society has gone astray But we're thinking in opposite directions
We're never going to agree with one another, ultimately But each side going its' separate way would be just as disastrous As one side dominating and bending the other to its' will
Why is it so hard to love people who are different from you?

Is it so hard to love people who are different from you? It shouldn't be, but we all long for matters to be settled, and our varying degrees of surety in our own convictions when confronted with those of others, make us long to convince one another,
To let others hold their convictions as tightly as we hold our own. . . seems to somehow conflict, as if alowing their convictions to be equal to resoect them to give up the instict to reject them as valid, is in some way an admission that our own conviction's certainty is in question, If only we could all agree on this one thing that living in harmony and equal respect with our fellow humans IS MORE IMPORTANT than that of planting our flag and laying claim to the world for ourselves and only those of like mind, and is truly the only road to lasting peace.

Truly the only road to lasting peace is inner peace We are a world restless for newness It's our strength and our baggage
In the flurry of the typical business cycle we have people wondering, "Is this all that there is?"
We have crazy drivers on the road, desperate to get from one end of town to the other, but
To what end? What's the rush?
We've been sold TVs and we've been sold a bill of goods We've been told to want new things, advertisers implant new desires into our minds
What happens when we want things that are bad for us?
Will they sell us the seeds of our own destruction for a quick buck? People were once hoodwinked into believing cigarettes were good for them, you know
Corporations have hooked themselves to our stomachs, to our hearts, to our gonads They drive people to spend and buy more and more and more
How do we disentangle ourselves from this exploitative system?

"How do we disentangle ourselves from this exploitative system?" we must first learn the difference between happiness and momentary pleasure! then we will have found true treasure! a treasure that has no price tag indeed no tangible form! it is the wellspring of love and it comes from within there is never a need to acquire more we are given an endless supply because it is this we are mean to give. . . this is why we live!
