To have spent these past decades... ...ten years shy of a century? with you as my journey companion would have been sublime
[hands clasped tight during phases where life dealt us the gift of rollercoaster rides]
We...We could have laughed with happiness into each others mouths as we kissed... You could have brought me coffee, two sugars and my slippers...
[I would have brought you red, red, red as your lips roses and my undying passion to make you mine and mine, alone]
Capricious kismet crossed our paths entangling the chemistry of our souls Damned destiny and frigid fate sheared us apart, irrevocably
Leaving us nothing but these few moments in time, stark with our urgent need spent watching you, watch me, watch you... Our breaths trapped in our throats...
All I longed for, was an amiable love shared well all I craved, all I needed was to be held in the warm brown gaze of your compassionate eyes, the chance to touch fingertips, as you handed me my morning coffee...

V - Kismet (or Karma?) is a crooked, mysterious road. You write about it so well, but the icing on the cake is the last stanza. Exalt!!!

your words bring forth my own memories, of a love almost lost, 20 years in limbo, only to have my love returned to me...now i do get my coffee in the mornings with him....but it could have been otherwise...yes, as heartfelt says....a crooked, mysterious road....this is too good to let pass, i also give you an EXALT.....

Thank you, ladies, for your reads and comments!
@heart7...kismet or karma...? karma is a "what comes around goes around" kind of thing, with somewhat retributional overtones, such as the biblical quote, "...reap what you sow..." Kismet, is more romantic, than karma...lol...doncha think?
@pegasus...the only "things" we ever truly lose are the ones we never find again...in your case, I would say both kismet and karma were involved...you were meant to meet both times and you deserve one another, to boot...
Take care, sweet ladies of the quill.

V - Both you and Peg have such a command of the written word. I admire that, and appreciate learning about the subtle differences. This website is truly a world of a million words, thoughts, ideas and perceptions. It's a pleasure to read you guys.

Hi! Kismet - fate, destiny (Turkish word) - means that nothing depends on our will. Very deep and interesting. And you are hooligan too! S.

haha, you got it, love...it's all about love of the unrequited variety... i was bemused, as poets often can be, by a program I was viewing, Torchwood. (love it! addicted to it! lol) Capt. Jack Harkness and one of his more bittersweet romantic entanglements inspired this bit of doggerel. but, what fun I had writing it! thank you, for the read and the exalt!

fierce frustration
molasses thick longing trickles through thoughts taunt with allayed desire
sweet ribbons of lust restrain common sense haunt my blood
You are the fruit laden bough beyond reach, fulsome, enticing and I? I am Tantalus
frustrated, fierce with the unrepentant need to feel your love bask in its glow
