daffodil, dandelion and yarrow bloom in scattered yellow smears across fields stained wet green by the March rains
tight lilac budlets glove the leafless branches of the redbud tree, its twisted trunk dressed in a glistening sheath of rivulets of droplets from this perspective it has become an arboreal debutante
the entire landscape seems magic kissed and faith blessed fat liquid diamonds everywhere puddled into shimmering pools that reflect the everything and nothing about us
as I tootle down the road I adore the rain drifted and shifted landscape knowing when the sun blazes again, it shall disappear into a flattened seared sepia soon, to soon
and the magic will be gone

~just now...
outside the march window of my bedroom a whipporwill scansorially solos warbles and rills trips and trills the scales moon light its pale symphonic conductor
in still shadows amongst the sleek folds of the curtains unable to move for fear of startling away this midnight virtuoso surreptitious listener hiding alone, it is I the whipporwill's enchanted audience of one

dangit, I just got compliments and nothing to follow or add to that, so then, shit, I am speechless but in my heart I am some little aphid drinking up those fat liquid diamonds out of the sight of the ants!!!

Thank you, Mose and Glenn for your reads and comments in this thread. March was a pretty month here. But, April, especially April 3, which I have nicknamed, "Terrible Tuesday" haven't been so pretty. Read in our town paper today, the residential section alone, sustained almost nine and half million dollars worth of damage due to the F-3 tornado that blew through this area that day...Mother Nature cleaning house and we puny humans the helpless dust bunnies beneath her bed...

~Ya Think?
I did not hear a choo choo train as some are known to refrain
I heard something different- WHOO-WHOOO-WHOOOO
The dead voices of a thousand angry displaced banshees
WHOO-WHOOO-WHOOOO LOUDER AND LOUDER AND LOUDER
Struggling to pull the closet door shut I felt the atmosphere plummet in every fiber and corpuscle of being; eardrums vibrating, pop-pop-pop-popping
As the tornado passed above our home while we cowered in the cramped dark closet wouldn't you know it? My cell phone started going off.
Later, after we'd stepped out to watch the monster walking away from us to cause unimaginable destruction
I read the text. It was sent by a family friend to inform us, a tornado was on top of us.
Ya think?

~To Be Found
Up is down down is up when April clouds touch ground no where safe to be found
Frankenstein has entered the building intent on tearing you limb from limb
Up is down down is up when April clouds touch ground no where safe to be found
