Let it be said, through good and bad, thick and thin, fat and lean...
When we paused to listen beyond our own inner screams-
we heard the cooing of doves, the answering trill of a mockingbird, the drip of raindrops from wind trembled leaves, the bouncing bubbles of childrens laughter floating upon summer breezes
When we looked beyond our individual invisible turmoil we saw wondrous things-
double rainbows sunsets and sunrises shadowed woods and sun dappled glades
When we dared taste more than our own bile- we delighted in chocolate cake and a nice cut of steak
When we allowed ourselves to feel more than our own pain, we felt kindess, empathy and love...
Let it be said, through good and bad, thick and thin, fat and lean...
When we paused to listen beyond our own inner screams-
we experienced and experience the most divine and wonderful things

Well said M'Lady.....life is so surprising to us, when wn feel down we feel sorry for ourselves, when we are up we rejoice, yet life is always there for us when we are ready for it. there is so much of it to deny, yet there are those who would try to deny it....thats when I write my anger, and thats when I forget the beauty of life. Thank you for bringing the reality back. Your words are uplifting to the swings of my mind. love ya girl peg

Totally agree with Pegesus!! I love this whole poem, and especially the line "When we paused to listen beyond..." I am so moved by this, and the fact that I can put my own words there as needed like - when I pause to listen beyond my own thoughts - when I pause to look beyond me - then in your words I "experience the most divine and wonderful things." Exalt!!!
