The Way Things Are
Centered between right now and right here is a place that embraces whatever I fear. Those things don't look so bad from here when I accept the way things are.
I can live in the present or wish it away, fight it or watch it change each day. It's a mystery to me, so what can I say, when I find peace with the way things are.
My truth is nestled in the here and the now, right here -- in the way things are -- right now. It's the way my Heart is teaching me how to forgive the way things are.

What we need to do to change and how to accept who we are in the present have a paradoxical relationship with each other. Both taken to extremes are harmful to us psychologically. But without growth and change, without ever being exposed to new stuff, we stagnate. Yet we can only be who we are.

Thank you for the insight, Phantasm. I was originally speaking of the present (the ways things are) and yet you made me realize that the present is also "my perception of the present" perceived by who I am (and "yet we can only be who we are".) So paradoxically, I want to accept, be at peace with, and forgive who I am. I will have to think on this!!! (ha)
