True satiation only happens
when one downs a cool glass

Religion and magic are an elusive horse and rider galloping
across both hill and dell, heather and gorse,
far and wide, shoreline and empty desert-
legendary rumors and gilded myths
minus the steel ring of reality
When asked a question
to which you do not know the answer
or to make a point what book do you reference?
The Talmud? The Bible? The Quran? Some Book of Shadows?
Do you practice for personal gain? To see a friend or foe
brought to a well deserved low in your estimation?
Do you practice for much needed protection from Hell
or to garner you sterling front row seats in Heaven?
Or is there a deeper mystery to your faith in an all powerful
deity willing to move events to individual human wants and wishes.
If and only if, one prays enough, sacrifices enough, begs and pleads
hard enough, chants loud enough to be heard beyond the ozone layer?
I am truly curious. I am open to listening. I believe in all possibility.
But, first, I must go feed and water my dragon, my unicorn and my pegasus
