When it comes to physical intimacy I am,
in some ways what the title suggests
because I will love a woman
giving special loving attention to her imperfections especially the ones I get a whiff of insecurity on her part about. . .
but I will not want her to see me standing naked before her in the light. . .
lying down is ok I don't look too bad that way,
but baby lets get undressed in the dark and climb under the covers
because I am not ok with how my own body looks standing naked in the light!! |

I think a paradox myself aims.
Body image is a curse, though I totally get where you're coming from.
we live in a society that has this 'idea' of what perfection is. And in truth how many actually can come close to this stylised perfection? The edited photos on glossy magazines. The media that tries to sell beauty as a commodity. A product of the here and now.
In the past ideas of what was desirable were very different. and trends come and go.
The bottom line of all this... Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We are all different, and it's our differences, or imperfections as you so nicely put, that attracts.

I believe you've skillfully hit upon a universal feeling felt by most lovers with this piece. Only the young and/or super fit wish to display all their nudity to scrutiny.Either through a preponderance of self-confidence or insecurity, who knows? The rest of us, perhaps best felt, not seen, so to speak when it comes to the act of coitus. Most of us are members of that club. Proud cardholder, myself. |
