The thing about roleplaying

I liked the anything-goes, anything-could-happen kind of RPs when I was just starting out, but I just can't seem to keep myself interested in that type of thing anymore. I've long since moved on to more organized forms of roleplaying. Where there's rules, a solid storyline, et cetera. I have a RP up and running on another site that fit those criteria exactly, but unfortunately, the site is inactive and it only got one joiner- who is currently on an unannounced vacation, for an unknown period of time.

This particular RP is an ISRP, which stands for Interactive Story Roleplay. It's single-player, and options for actions are provided so you don't get stuck on what to do next. The goal is to keep your character alive for as long as you can, and if possible, escape the island.

I am totally fascinated by what you are proposing.

I believe you would have to lead the way for us, Kitten.
You've seen what our nerdy poets approximation is
on the'This is Where Your Mind is..." thread.

We just keep adding to the story and playing off
of whatever was left by the last poet in.
And it pales into comparison to what Drakkoby
and Hithrael used to do at an alternate site.

I would like you to make one here on Poetryseasons.
It will be fun for us to try our hands at.

Let me think on it a bit. I believe maybe best
to create a board all of its own. That then could
have several rpg threads going if we attract others
that are into this creative outlet.

Yes, if you could create a board for roleplaying, I think that would be a lot easier than figuring out where else it could go.

why is the RPG board password-only

Drat. I haven't any idea. I was under the impression
it was open to all. Been playing with it for a bit trying to remedy that.

I like to try to fix things on my own first. As I am so woefully
computer illiterate. I do my best to force me to learn how to do
something, before I give up and seek help. LoL Stubborn old lady
and all that rot.

However, I have already been thinking while I was in here tweaking things
last night, I would like to turn this board over to you to administrate and/or moderate.
You are our hands on RPG expert and then you could do as you like or need to with the board.

Is this something you would be interested in tackling, my sweet pretty?

Yes, I think it would be fitting if I was the moderator of the RP board. Do you know how to make that happen? (Because I do. I know my way around Proboards pretty well, having been an admin on three different forums.)

Update: David actually logged in here today and seems to have fixed the password issue.

He is on board with you being the moderator of the RPG board. He is going to look
into it tomorrow, to see what steps are required to make it so.

Okay, who the heck added the password back in? It's right there in board properties, under Settings. If you put anything in that box, it becomes the new password. I don't get how you can keep accidentally adding one in when you have to go all the way to settings to do that.

I didn't think I actually had put a password in the other night. But, it kept saying
it had a password. So, I assumed I did.

We went through it today and tested it out with one of my "alternates" and it was working fine.
No password, required. One of the reasons I have alternates is so I can see what y'all see...

Put your moniker in and moved on with life. In this case, watching 'What We Do in the Shadows'.

Long drawn out sigh. Back to the drawing board. I'm wondering if it's automatically setting a password
because it is an RPG board? After all, initially, that's what was mostly around in here when we landed.
Proboards was more for gamers and such it seemed. Poetry forums were like splinters of splinter
groups in 2006 in here.

Don't know. But, it did. And both times, it was David's Big Kahuna Administrator password. LoL I tried to explain that to him. He said the same thing you did. "It's all manual."

I was peeved you STILL couldn't get in and giggling at the same time when I told him, "Guess what??"

I plan to take a more thorough look at all three of the threads
you already have up when I am off of work, again. The interior of my
skull feels like it is filled with plain oatmeal when I'm working.

I have skimmed the first bit of the first thread. I am intrigued.
And of course, I plan to at least attempt to give it a go.

Yes, I imagine this is unexplored territory for most of us here, KitCat.
Definitely wake up our brains!

I found myself tickled at your allowance for poets to write in verse, if they must.
Giggled my booty off. That might be a good thing. But, I think most of us here
can write in prose form if need be.

I would suggest inviting anyone you feel might like participating on the RPG thread
on this site. That way, we can also see how it's done, touch it, smell it, ponder it.

They don't have to feel obligated to write or share poetry. Just join and play the game.
