Always this romantic verbal dithering about this impudent viral infection known as love Let me tell you what love has gotten me and others too Not a dratted thing and plenty of that to boot When it comes to love most of us are strangers in paradise and not in a good way either Kept at arms length if even allowed in the house So to speak of course I'm not implying We the loveless and lovelorn are dogs And for what it's worth I'm fine by that Love can just dratted well leave me alone I don't need love to pay my bills I need a job and I've got that covered Love never cared for me like I care for myself love would rather beat the living hell out of me and leave me for dead all nonchalant and elegant as if breaking someone into pieces was a finished art project Love love I say who the hell needs this? Love is a drunken leering archer with broken arrows patting your behind and everyone else's too I love you says love then sets to preaching about all the things one must do or change to stay worthy of love's affection and graces You know what? I've experienced enough shipwrecks! I say fuck love and all of its priests and acolytes I'm done nursing at the dry teat of exasperation unmitigated pain and shame I say love is lame! I rebel! Viva la revolution! I will become asexual! I want to run with the wolves! I've quite had enough of howling at the moon with the rest of the lovelorn

Love is a funny thing. Makes you do things you wouldn't normally do. Gets you right out of your comfort zone and into uncharted territory. And for all of us that's been there it can be scary and unsettling. But also pleasant at the same time.
For those that have been in those uncharted waters I'm sure you could think of occasions where you're watching a movie or music concert you hate but your date loves and you say how wonderful you thought it was.
Also those dark times when love seems more a curse than a blessing.
You hit the nail on the head with this one Vulture. And I can see the humour in this.
Excellent piece my friend.
