With the Christian God I cannot abide seems our wishes collide and God would see even my meager ones denied God's not on my side. Although, I could never be cruel or unkind, I cannot be stupidly blind so here's what I had in mind I might slightly slide over to the darkside!

The dark side is not all it's cracked up to be aims. People in general seem to need something to believe in. The idea that there is this supreme being looking down on us has appeal to many. someone to look up to and follow, sometimes blindly. Someone to blame when things go wrong in our lives. Christianity, and many other religions in many ways are not much different from some of the much older pagan religions. Perhaps a more sanitised version of them however. You still have rituals. You still have human intermediaries between a higher being and the congregation. You still have icons that represent a faith. So I don't see much that has really changed in millennia. It's like for instance going to a slimming club to try and lose weight. You follow the rules given to you, eat the right things, exercise more, and by taking note of what you are told by the leader of the group you lose weight. But you have to have the will to do it. You have to have faith in yourself and the group leader to achieve your goal. That's the tricky part. My point is everything comes from ourselves. If people do not believe in themselves then they will not be able to achieve. And no one else can achieve things for them long term. As you can see I found this thought provoking... A good write my friend.
