Eight perfect minutes.
We look toward the horizon you and I,
A perfect day...Blue sky with light cloud,
And as I hold you in my arms we kiss...
The sun shining so low as evening comes.
We watch as the colors of the sunset forms,
Those hues so beautiful for us to see together,
Such colors to uplift our thoughts to love,
I look at you and say “I love you” with a smile.
You look and say “I love you too my love,”
We both turn towards that last sunset,
A perfect sunset made for you and I,
It takes eight minutes...Or so they say.
For light to travel from the surface of the sun to Earth,
Just time enough to savor precious moments,
Before the sun explodes before our very eyes,
How wonderful those precious moments Have been.
Darkness.

Sweet vibrant visuals and lovely sentiment woven throughout the poem.
I enjoyed reading this piece both silently and out loud, Darkness.
