What is it you love about love? Is it the thrill, the rush of hormones, the rise in blood pressure? Do you love love? Do you love how love makes you feel?
Is that what we call hedonism?
What do you love about love? Is it the sense of belonging? The feeling of safety and security?
Do you hold on to love no matter what?
Is that what we call neurotic?
What is love about? Is it about the self, or is it about the other? Can we love that which is truly The Other?
Can love and xenophobia exist in the same heart?

*CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!*
PHANTASM!!!!!! You stepped out of your comfort zone!!! Flipped the box right over!!!
I am so tickled! You rarely pen in this genre. Fresh and profound well written piece, I might add!!!
*BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO!*

I felt like doing a quick little ditty about the idea of love. What other category is something like that supposed to be filed under, in the system we have around here?

In the core of my nature, I'm more of a thinker than a feeler. That's the place I'm coming from.
Alas, most people in this world seem to skew towards feeling rather than thinking.

It is so like my good friend to miss my point-YOU WROTE SOMETHING IN A GENRE YOU RARELY, IF EVER, WRITE IN!!!!! You know how I love it when someone flips that box, does a 180 and pens in a voice or genre they rarely use. I know you're not getting all lovey dovey or feelie wheelie. We got romance from your perspective, and it's fresh and profound and not bogged down with angst, insecurity or unrequited-ness. It's so Phantasm, in its approach.
Excellent poem. I just enjoyed my second read through.
