It was 94 degrees at 5:00 A.M. this morning and will only get hotter throughout the day until every thought I have evaporates, and I spend another day alive, but dead to the world, no energy left to write about this world that is also dying a slow death, much slower than mine.

1000 years from now, I predict archeologists will be astonished that we had such a freaking huge metropolis located where Phoenix, AZ is.
Hope your air conditioning is up to the task.

I am reading this at the end of September. Hope it has cooled off by now. As always, a joy to know you have flitted through the halls, here! Not writing much myself these days.

In the Christian bible, there is a phrase, "be ye not of this world but be ye transformed..." and then another one comes to mind reading this, "seek ye first the kingdom of Heaven and all these things shall be added into you.." I reread your post alot. The bible references hit me. So, I ponder if you are moving beyond all this world and you see it for what it is and you are at a higher level. Some time has passed since you posted this, but maybe there is a feeling of mourning or loss for what you knew the world to be and what you see now. For me, reading your post makes me hopeful that there is something more. As another train of thought things hits me that I don't always have the writing skill to coherently express but it is that the world must die for the world to be born anew or something else in its place and this cycle is important because things that go on too long and don't die become a cancer. Maybe you are onto the very nature and reason of life...I remember being in Phoenix and it being high temperatures but the air felt great, what they say is a dry heat. Then, you can drive a ways to a mountain that still has snow at 8400 feet above sea level, and it is cool but you also feel the intense power of the sun baking on your neck. It is quite a contrast. I did not get to stay long in Arizona, but I thought it was a very.nice place to be.

("Seek ye first the kingdom of God...") How funny that you quoted my favorite bible passage. My favorite message though (from every religion) is that "God is Love," beautifully expressed by the humble life of Jesus, the compassion taught by Buddha, the devotion in the Vedanta. But because the respective religions insist on being exclusive, I guess I'm not religious. That choice does not make me right, just more alone, to ponder the "very nature and reason for life." Sorry I don't have any answers. If I believe anything, it's that fear and Love are the negative and positive energies that power this world, and we have to try and balance them in ourselves, especially during times like this when the whole world seems unbalanced.

One need not be religious, to be spiritual, dear Heart. Even an atheist can be spiritual.
Your comments, like your poems, are always filled with love and light. It beams from you.

I felt this in my bones.
