World war III
Life and Death hang balanced on a golden chain,
As the sunshine we once new now turns to rain,
Those darkened clouds excluding what we see as light,
Leaving each and every one of us to the mistress of the night.
Too sure of our abilities to fight our foe,
Too blind to see our kind could well be brought low,
An adversary well adapted to the world we know,
Not ever caring as it floats along in times flow.
In waves ever stronger it seeks to test our resolve,
Each battle hard won upon such life and death revolve,
While fools sit idly by having no understanding of our plight,
Or the casualties inflicted by their reluctance to join this fight.
How and why? Are they questions lost now in the dubious truths of fate?
Will this continue on until our deadly foes appetite it can sate?
It is always up to everyone to do their part and make a stand,
To do what is needed to rid our common enemy from our land.
Have no doubt we are fighting for so much more than just our lives,
The very bedrock of our societies, and our way of life may not survive,
This is a bitter conflict which the whole world is now involved,
A deadly enemy who can if given such possibility will forever evolve.
