Particle Reactor
My body was whirling faster and faster, As from afar, I saw my atoms splitting, In a particle reactor of sound.
As I soaked into the music On that Al Andaluz night I saw splintered souls in realignment, Swirling in a fever of light.
Later, I sat to consider, The constituent components of sound.
But I could not unravel the pattern. Was unable to decipher the code. So my head began whirling faster and faster, Round and around!

Hi DavidMc, I like that visual, although I do not know what an Al Andaluz night is. I would like to have one of those reactors. When I got tired of my own self I could just step in it for a quick realignment!

Thanks RR3. I wrote this one when I was living in Southern Spain. I went to a North African music event with some friends, and the style of music they played was very hypnotic and I could feel myself being sucked in by the atmosphere.

David: This is an intriguing and thought-provoking poem with great imagery on a subject not many people would or could probably tackle, and you've written it beautifully. I figured out that it must have something to do with Spain because of a reference to what might be Andalusia -- thanks for explaining. And I agree with you (although I've never been there) that the North African music of the region is indeed hypnotic!
Best regards,
Monica

Thanks Monica. I wrote this in my head during the concert, (hence the very specific date.) Although this wasn't a 'sufi' event, it had that mesmeric 'whirling' quality that inspired me to write.
