Inbetween
What happens when you close your eyes? Do you see what I see?
I see people I have never met, nameless images projected on my inner screen
It's not quite reality nor a dream ...
It's inbetween ... The state that knows no name
Is your mind composed of subtle colours? the teal of green or ocean blue Do you dream my inbetween?

I believe we are slowly developing 'our sixth sense' Women are more naturally tuned in than are Men.
Thank you for the comments.
David.

oh my stars, David ! your poem is charming!
we women have only been pretending to be more tuned-in than you men. that way we can make you keep believing that we know something you don't. like, knowing what you're thinking only by the way you're acting. that sneaky smile on your face right now tells all at this moment. see? knew what you were thinking after all.
anyway, very nice piece of literary talent.

I'm assuming you're implying you're female, It. In which case, you should speak for yourself. Not all women are game players, as the above analogy would imply that you are.

not a game player at all. sorry for the mis-understanding, Thing. please excuse me for confusing my point. i meant that we women do have the ability to see through men's facade of playing innocent. not that they are guilty for anything wrong, but they don't really get it when we read them clearly so often. tell a man a pun about a woman, any pun at all. let's say, like blond jokes for instance. and there is this sly, sneaky smile that they get. my husband was the same way. but what they might like to know is their sly smile and most of their actions are a give-away. not that they're being disrespectful, or trying to hide something. it's just that, if they do try to hide something, it only makes us more aware that they are.
when I was writing that response to David, i was sitting at my cousin's computer; he had just seen what i first wrote, and was trying to contain his laughter. trying to keep it to that sneaky smile of his. so i wrote the second part, but that blurred my meaning. at that time, i knew he just tried to hide my birthday present and cake. which i thought was so cute; my cousin trying to surprise me, when the cake he had baked smelled up the whole kitchen. no fair! the aroma of the strawberry pudding birthday cake he baked was driving me nuts, it smelled so good. i was trying to let him think that he was about to surprise me, when the surprise was that he remembered my birthday on his own to begin with. my husband never did.
but my new fiance does, and the biggest surprise of all was when he showed at my cousin's front door after my cousin had arranged to get him here from the air force base in Florida that my fiance is stationed at. that one got me good. so some men do actually get it when we women look like we are stuck in that in-between state that David's poem is written about.
i'm glad that you spoke up, Thing. i agree, not all women are game players; niether are all men.

yep! Jeff's cousin. that's me. or is it that he's my cousin, not me being his cousin. took me a while to get the name 'nims' and what it means. now i see the reasoning behind it.
Jeff's wonderful to be around. a real nut, and so happy. but i've seen him go off on his own in the back yard to think and be by himself. i cannot get the kook to open up about what was the story behind why Ingra left. i met her once. very sweet girl. and she seemed to really love Jeff with all her heart. So now he spends a lot of time alone or asleep. hope he's really and truly o.k.
oh and about the comments by 'Thing'; i'm very glad that person had spoken up. it let me clear up my confusing message.
This site is so much fun ! thank you for the welcome and hospitality. lots of of excellent writing going on in here. please, keep it going !!!!!!!!!!!

You're very welcome, Cuz. And thank you for what you said about our little site. We, David and I, like to think we've some of the bestest poets on the planet contributing poetical works of art here.
Yes, your Jeff, and our Nims, LOL, is a wonderful human to be around, and one of my dearest cyber fweends. And imho, Ingra lost out when she walked out on him, for whatever reasons. But, I don't want to speak ill of her, as she is a sweet girl and so I won't. Takes time to heal from a broken heart, Cuz...Your Jeff will bounce back, eventually.
Enjoy yourself wandering the halls, lots of word paintings lining the walls...Nir aka Sabrina.

Your comments to my cousin Elise are so sweet and she'll see them when she and her loved-one Adam return from their short trip down to Branson, MO.
As for me...I'm doing better and better each day and Life moves forward into one glorious adventure after another...so time for some Jubilation and Celebration !

Good to know, mi amigo...That you are bettering...Elise...What a charming name...You read my mind...I was wondering what her name was the last time I was in...She's welcome to hang out with us, anytime. Your last paragraph, also perfectly describes how I feel about Life now, too...Good to feel that way...Instead of like you want to drown yourself in a toilet out of desperation...Question: Can one, give oneself a whirlie? Or is that logistically impossible? Giggling my way out of the box and off the forum for the moment, only...Ya'll take care! Nir.
