I live in a world of swirling, twirling images The perfect couple The perfect life The perfect vacation The perfect ride in a car I'm being sucked in I'm well down in the tube now Pop culture and capitalism have blacked all the windows I only know representations of things No REAL things I'm living a sterile life, I hunger for infection Keep your Penicillin, maybe the pain will wake me up I'm not keen on dying I just want to LIVE before I die

When one feels a longing for something intangible The marketplace jumps right in "You'd definitely feel better if you: Bought this car, had this smile, lost that weight, Took this vitamin, bought this exerciser, Watched this movie, read this book, ate this food..." All for the low, low price of $19.95. But no, I think I'll go Where pace is slow And be content to vent And then patiently long for something intangible.

On quiet, gentle breeze On quiet, mental seas His presence can be sensed As world from mind is rinsed. The present seems transcended His Presence now is blended With all within, without, Evicting every doubt. In vigilance I'm still, The vision sent fulfills A living lifelong quest, "Verbum caro factum est."
