Another crushing September rakes across my remembering heart. "You are my love, my passion, my woman and that will never change, " he said.
The Autumn moon brings wave after wave of numbing loneliness. "I will be with you always, no matter what," he said. "You know I'll never disappear," he said.
The hopes and dreams of nearly a lifetime lay forgotten and decaying in a cesspool of dark despair. "I love you with all my heart," he said. "I will dry your tears," he said. "I will comfort your fears", he said. "This is my oath to you," he said.
No lover's gentle kiss, no lover's tender caress, no loving words to stop the tears from gushing like blood from an open wound. "You are the center of my universe," he said. "I searched for you so long and I'm not going to lose you now," he said. "You're never out of my thoughts," he said "You are the most wonderful woman I've ever met," he said.
No sweet anticipation, no blissful fantasy. No laughter, no light, no joy, no peace. Now each day dawns cold, bleak and alone. Each one its own September. "AMLA, pretty lady," he said.

As did Dawn, I found this a poignant and wrenching piece. I know I'm about to admit my own ignorance, but curiosity killed the cat and satisfaction brought her back... Will you please tell me what AMLA, means, or stands for? I'm so drawing a blank... So, what else is new? LOL Sabrina.

It's an acronym we used for "All My Love Always".

OH...Oh...[sound of a forehead being smacked] What a dunce I am... As soon as I read what you said, I realized, I should have realized that's what it stood for... Thanks for not laughing...I'd rather ask a dumb question than to wonder what it is I don't know...Beautiful offering, Anna. Thanks for sharing it! Sabrina.

Why would I laugh, lovely lady? "AMLA" is part of the mystery of what happened. I guess you might say it represents my own cluelessness. Actually, I'm very flattered that you liked the poem enough to ask. Blessings, Anna
