Hi All, I have recently been looking for a site where people post their own poetry and was delighted to find Poetryseasons. I only started writing poems about 2 months ago in an effort to deal with some emotional upheaval, and now I wish I had started this years ago. I am a married, monogamous, mildmannered middle aged male whose life was fairly boring and predictable for quite a number of years. However, in the last few years I lost my sister (lung cancer), mother (Parkinson's disease) and father (MI) and beccame the guardian of my dear, mentally handicaped brother (Willy) who requires 24 hour supervision. Add to this the fact that my wife has become quite depressed and is a hormonal wreck and our only child (daughter) married her college sweatheart and moved away and I had to stop my primary form of relaxation (running) because of a knee injury. Thus the need for poetry. Looking forward to getting to know many of you. RR3

Dear Roadrunner3, You have been through much in such a short time, and I can certainly relate to a good deal of it. How wise of you to turn to writing at this emotional time in your life. I look forward to reading your stuff!
Best, Pamela

Nice to meet you, Rdrnnr! I reiterate...Welcome to our alternate universe of poetry!
You're in good company...Many of us, have experienced trials and tribulations of one sort or another...Some of us, like you, have recently lost loved ones or beloved parents... It's my opinion, one cannot be a poet unless one has experienced great loss or losses in life...However, having said that, I'd like to extend my condolences...And as David and Pamela said, I look foward to reading your poetical offerings. Sabrina.

Hi roadrunner. Welcome to Seasons. This is a magical place. I have grown much as a poet here, and I am sure the same will go for you. Yes many of us have been or are going through turmoil in our lives. I can relate to the knee injury. I messed mine up recently, can't run , can't dance, can't pick up the grandbabies, its a major mess. I pray you find solace here, if not answers and peace. We also are here for you to talk, so if you need to, you may send me a message or any of the others. After reading your profile I think we have much in commom. Again welcome.... Vixen
