When I think of Black Entertainers who influenced me. I do not think of Michael Jackson. He was an oddity. He was a dancing skeleton like the old racial black men on a stick dancers. You had to see him, he invoked something older from another time. He was not new. He was different. He was a singer, he was a dancer....he was a tragedy. Michalel was visual eye candy, he was sensationalism that the lowest factor in our society could identify with. He was a diversion to the average and hum-drumness of most people's lives. He was the first visual heroin really because he did things that were not normal. Ok, look back at James Brown. Look back at Little Richard. Those were the real phenoms. They didn't have promise, they delivered. They delivered right up until the end. Little Richard is still an enigma to me. Michael Jackson though, he is not an enigma. He is a study in psychological befuckery. He is a testimony to mental illness in its worst and darkest forms. Albeit, he did stay above it for a short period of time. To my understanding he actually died in 1991, it took till now to let him rest in peace.
Free your mind and your ass will follow. What will the people say of the great George Clinton? Power to the people and more power to the pussy! Smell my finger. You can sink your teeth into that. Michael Hampton of Eddie Hazel. Who cares, they both were great players. Either you rise above it or eventually you will drown in your own shit. Only with a free ass can you control where you shit versus where you step. Some folks get that and live long lives as performers who were great and are great till the end. Others, just got caught up in something more tragic first of all because their house was not in order. Give me a soapbox, I would give you a righteous sermon on befuckery that people do to themselves...as far as Jacksons go, I don't like Jesse. Jesse, however, has remained an element in society demanding that he be heard and his voice is out there...still, wish it wasn't, but got to give him props for that. He has done a lot of shit, he has risen above it.
You really think about it. It is not the person, the life or what they do or do not have it is the "PERFORMANCE" which is a fleeting sensation that only matters in the moment. This is where I have dug Parliament Funkadelic because they hit on some wisdom that never got told in this way but life is so like sex, it mainly matters while it is happening, after that you might have the sweet smell of the funk of your finger, but you ain't dancing. Whatever you are growing is what you've been sowing. Maybe it is time to dig up that fucked up garden and plant it right. Hard and constant.
I just want to celebrate another day of living. Death has no quarter for me.
You know, even the German rappers are far more interesting than MJ, to me...more talented as well. For a singer and dancer, he left the city of Los Angeles holding the bill for over a million dollars for funeral costs...way to fuck over the people Mikey!
In leaving, Deichkind, might not understand it, but it is weird enough to make you laugh...
