I'd like to thank each of you for your contributions to this site. Without your creative input this place would be very bland and boring, indeed!
If you've noticed, David and I have been scarce, lately.
David is dealing with a family crisis and is understandably emotionally beleaguered at the moment. On top of being quite busy scheduling appointments concerning our fiance'/spouse visa application.
I have recently quite smoking and am spending very little time at the computer or writing at this point, as writing or typing is a trigger for me to smoke...
Thursday of this week, will make it three weeks since I abandoned cigarettes. This very moment, since I settled down in front of the computer, I began to crave a ciggie!
It would be a great honor, if during our hiatus, you guys and dolls continued to fill this place with creativity and laughter. It is already an honor that you are all here in the first place!
Write on, my fellow earthlings! Sabrina.

Sabrina, I wish you luck with the quitting smoking. I understand how certain things trigger it. I certainly am not one to talk ( I haven't quit yet ) but perhaps you could associate a new habit with writing (clicking a pen, or rolling up aluminum foil into small little balls or something) I don't know just a suggestion. In the mean time we will continue to keep you and David in our prayers during this struggle. I know I am fairly new but definitely love the comfort of this place and promise to be more active. Take the time you both need and work on getting that visa. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Take Care, Kay

Five weeks nicotine free!!! I haven't killed anyone and more miraculous, no one has killed me!!!! Although there have been a couple of death threats!!! Not.
Thank you, Star and Kay for your kind thoughts and prayers. Please, feel free, ladies, to contribute poetry or just yak until such time as David and I, or at least one of us, can get our heads on straight enough to be back to writing poetry.
Really need the prayers as we enter our last phase of this fiance' visa process. I am terrified we will be told I do not make enough money to entertain the thought of sponsoring David. He goes for his medical November 26; and for his American embassy interview in London on December 18. Before he shows up in London, we have another mountain of paperwork we must prepare.
If we are finally, at some point allowed to marry, our wedding will be almost anti-climatic...lol

Thanks millions to Serg, Star and Peg/Pegasus for loading up the boards with poetry the past several weeks!!!!! You guys rock!
David and I are trying to right ourselves after his cousin's passing; my cessation of smoking; and as usual, doing the immigration boogie to subtract that god damned ocean betwixt and between us.
Speaking of the immigration boogie, he has gone for his medical exam on November 26 and is off next on December 18 for his interview with the American embassy in London. We have our hopes and wishes set on a possible March wedding. If we are turned down for any reason, I'm afraid we will both be driven completely mad. Okay, madder than we already are...lol...
Our best to all of you and always, always, write on!!!!!!!

I wholeheartedly concur with Sabrina.... YOU GUY'S 'N' GIRLS are the best ;D
From a personal point of view I've been going through some things which have left me depressed, deflated and uninspired,
BUT
When I read your contributions my spirit is lifted.
Keep it up gang!
Love y'all David

hehehe...broke one habit and gained another...overeating! Dawn, I have gained twenty pounds since I laid ciggies aside!!!!!!! I'm okay with that though...well, so far...as long as I don't gain anymore!!!!!
some positive sounding news on the visa front we received yesterday. the specialist seems to feel the lung/heart issue where David is concerned is mostly attributable to growing older. gigglegiggle. he, the doctor, still plans to run one last test, a CT scan, but, more or less told David he is through with him!
however, we will see what we see...I give up on anything David and I want happening when we want it...but, who knows what might yet be around the bend for us or anyone else for that matter?
each of you is in my thoughts...write on!

sabrina~
i know you are on the down low lately both here and over at bnet but i just want you to know i am thinking of you and david... praying away for things to go smoother and swifter, knowing from experience that things always go the way they are meant to in the first place- despite how frustrating that can be .
am proud of you for quitting smoking ! what an accomplishment ~ wish i had half your discipline when it comes to my own vices.
perhaps i will re-post some pieces i put up over at the universe... take care. both you and david need to stay strong and healthy ! hope your children are well too.

Babs!!!!! How great to see you have come by!!!! Thank you for your prayers for David and me and my little family
Yes, I quit smoking but, have since gained twenty pounds!!!! UGH!!!!!!! Still glad I quit smoking though. My new mission is to lose that poundage before David gets back here! I am still cute enough though...lol...for a lady fast approaching 49, anyway...
I would be honored and thrilled if you bothered to post anything you have written and shared it here with our smallish group of poets!!! So, bring it on! Don't tease me about it!!!!!!!!!
We are both trying to stay strong and healthy and Ivy is healthy as far as I know. You do the same and take care of you for me and hope all is well for and between you and your daughter, sweets!
Nir.
