Little Corner Office
I have a little drama queen, my E-G-O. She troubled me a lot, tried to run the show, until I gave her the title of C-E-O of that little corner office in my mind.
She still puffs out with opinions and pride, but not like before when something inside would explode with self-righteous indignation and out she'd come for a confrontation.
She still peeks out with a greedy eye, watching for gain is her modus operandi. But when I ask for a count of the blessings of life, she goes back to the office and counts all night.
She still sneaks out with burning desire, trying to set my mind on fire. Get up, get going, get out there and be. I just sit back and smile. I'm finally free.
She cries now and then with doubt and fear. What's going to happen without me here? I say get up, get going, get back to the grind, I need you in the office, that little corner office in my mind.

I was just lurking but this one was still working me on its purity and its clear path to sanity then I pondered it once more and spread rose petals on the floor... and hold my lighter way up high and scream rock on, rock on

Moseley: Loved your poetical comment too. Nobody has told me to "rock on" since the '60s (ha).
'Nir: Thank you for the exalt. I felt I was getting a little too serious (my drama grandma). Hope I can keep her in check. (ha)
Thanks again.

Okay, I must admit, I loved this piece so much, I shared it on Facebook. I used your moniker Heartfelt7 as the poet's name. If you are uncomfortable with this, I will take it off. I should have asked first. I was just so excited by the piece and its universal message, I couldn't resist. If you would like, I will put your actual name with it. It is a work to be proud of. I was so proud of it! I'm younger than some of you, older than a lot of you, but, I always call y'all "my babies". lol Dotty dame that I am and all that rot. Never check your inspirational flow. Give the horse her head and let 'er run as the saying goes.

'Nir: No problem. I appreciate you wanting to share it. If you think something will touch the heart, then that's why I write them. As for a name, Heartfelt7 is fine. I never joined a forum before and was rather naive when I joined as Heartfelt7 because there already was a Heartfelt. I wasn't thinking. Oh well. (Did you just wish her a happy birthday recently or was that for me? ) (ha) Thanks again. You made my day!

It was for you, dahlin'! The "other" Heartfelt, hasn't been around in eons...lol
Glad you didn't mind about sharing this poem. I often do things impulsively and then think about it, later...
I am happy that when you made the decision to join a forum, you joined this one!
