Unopened Rose
Like a rose that never opened to a world that did not care, her folded petals still embrace the love she could not share.
No one saw her beauty, nor her talents or her gifts, most of which were hidden in her unspent innocence.
Those of us who loved her could not love her as You do. Perhaps this rose will open now and blossom just for You.

Thank you for the exalt, 'Nir, and for a new word (elegy) to add to a vocabulary that is growing thanks to you and Aims. What a great word - "Mournfully contemplative." It makes me think of Kahlil Gibran's, "Sorrowful persons find joy in lamentation..." I don't think I am a sorrowful person, but who can avoid sorrow in this world??? Thanks again.

Another definition of elegy, is anything that is expressively written after a person's death that is about them, or extolls their virtues, what they did in life, in a concrete or metaphorical sense. In that sense, yes, this is a beautiful elegy about your sister honoring her and her life...And your welcome, sweet Dora. (((((Dora)))))
