When someone says "please be aware"....could that be the same as "please beware"? We have too many words.

'Be aware...' is merely an informative phrase in American parlance. It's a verbal finger pointing at an object or something.
'Beware' signals some sort of danger is afoot... when it's not being used metaphorically.
A two-inch thick dictionary printed in, say, 10-point Georgia would be a boon to the planet if most everyone knew more of the words that actually existed within it.
