I almost never go there anymore and I know no one else probably does either but I got a message at my inbox over there (happened to stop by) they will keep the forums up in read only mode after October 31st. it's been dead over there for a long while but I know some of ust started out over there and became acquainted over there, and even though it's already been a thing of the past there is still a tinge of sadness for me in it's demise.

Thank you for sharing this with us,Amy. It saddens me, too. Beliefnet had one hell of a rocking poetry forum over there at one time. Several of them, actually. But, the Spiritual Poetry forum was home base there, for myself and so many others. I joined in 2004. I can honestly say, after all the poetry forums I've visited and or participated in, BNet U, as some us of affectionately called it, was where I read the work of not only great poets, but, several became my dear friends. Such as yourself. And then there is that other friend I met there that I couldn't get rid of, so, I married him...hehehe

Yeah, when I got an email alert from them I saw on my profile the last time I stopped in was December of '12. That was a reality check right there. For a long while though they were the biggest spiritual/religious website around.

I know one thing, the people I met through the Bnet spiritual poetry forum, have proven to be my most enduring internet relationships. Several of you are here, now. One of you left us a year ago, September 13th, 2014. Misharae Whitenwolf aka Michelle Wolf. Gone, but, not and never, forgotten. Those of us from Bnet, here, initially met between the years of 2004 through 2006, I believe. I remember Phant, initially thought I was a male writer. And David, initially had a crush on you, Amy Cain, when he landed as Love n' Light. Gigglegigglegiggle. Betcha didn't know that, did you?
I remember all those fabulous add to the story threads, some of us poets were into. Your remember, Phant? Those threads went off into all kinds of crazy directions. Rather poetical rpg's. LoL For a while, individually Hithrael, Drakkoby, Phantasm, Misharae and myself, were ginning and spinning some fabulous fantasy/sci-fi poetical epicals.
Bnet spiritual poetry forum was a magical creative zone for so many of us until the religious pomposity brigade tore the place to shreds rending each other to pieces and us, too, waging war over Christ and Gays not having a place in churches. It was like walking into an abattoir after that. I will never forget the thread that attempted to tear Drakkoby to pieces, for believing he could be gay and X'tian. I miss him, so much. Wonder about him, all the time. He used to show up here, too.
I remember, a group of us gals, initially thought Glenn was female, too, when he showed up as Was.
That was the fun and the mystery of poets posting in the old days before selfies...2004 through 2006 feel like the old days, already. To funny.
My hat is off to all of you who followed us here from Bnet, thank you for coming. Thank you more, for continuing to show up! And, to all of you, who did not join as part of the old Bnet crowd, my hat is equally off to you. Thank you for coming! Thank you for continuing to show up!
Some of us here, have known each other through poetry and the internet for ten years, or more. Poets are not "normal". We are always the only poet, in most any crowd in the "real" world. We need a place to connect, with others of our kind. I'm honored, that for you, this is the place. Thank you.
