Time has unmasked me I've settled my sword and shield in the far corner I have removed the bright cloak I understand I can't save
the entire world But, it would be rather nice if I could save one- at least one god damned village Then, perhaps I could save myself

I think we're all exhausted from the Culture Wars. Only the most radical extremists have the energy to keep up the fight. We're never going to agree, we'll never really see eye-to-eye. We live in a world where everyone's obsessed with being and feeling right without backing up their claims with solid information.
We can't even agree where to find solid information anymore.
What is there to understand in a world full of truth claims that negate one another?

Anirbas - I don't know about swords and shields, but don't put away your pen. Your pen is the best sword I have ever read!

Our own dear, sweet Heart! Great to see you. I miss you. We all miss you. When you're nowhere to be found around here!

Thank you so much for the read and your comments, Heart. I value your input and insight. And count on you to intuit the sword and shield are metaphor for pen and ink.

Hey Nir, how's everything in your neck of the woods? Are you feeling the effects of the hurricane? Keep yourself and your computer dry.

Thanks for asking, Phant. We are about a six hour drive from the coastline. So, out of Harvey's line of vision, by a long shot. We might pick up some scattered rains, like 20% to 30%, Monday and throughout next week.
The folks on the coastline, are far from out of harm's way. Though Harvey has made landfall, last night, its not projected to go anywhere over the next few days. Just hover and dump up to two feet of water on the area its already assaulted. It came ashore, as a cat 4. Downgraded to a cat 1, now.
