theme choices?

the default one's nice, but I wish there were at least one or two other options. maybe a dark theme?

I think that's up to Anirbis. She changes the color scheme only rarely.

Ah, Phant, thou dost know me well. Basically, because when I land in this alternate universe of poetry,
like the rest of you I've come to write and read, first and foremost. And I'm kind of like a guy
in that, as long as we all have furniture that's comfy to sit on, that's right on by me!!! LoL

Actually, Kitten, this isn't the default theme option. It's the third color scheme/theme since
the ether net doors opened, here in. I can't remember what we had initially...

But, I changed it to more feminine colors for a few years. Kind of a mauve-y, teal and tan scheme.

About two years ago-ish, I went with the blue and silver to also represent our masculine members.

I, too, prefer darker colors. My clothes closet is predominantly shades of black. But, when I've played with darker themes here,
it seems like it's harder to read the print...The ages of our members vary from one end of the scale to the other. So, when
I change a color theme, I try to keep it eye friendly.

However, I thought if you went into settings, members can actually individualize their experience...? Including color theme.
Unless, we have lost that option, too, the last time the powers that be shook up the landscape on proboards. LoL

I love it, Phant! I slipped in yesterday, wearing David's hat, so to speak, and played around.

(Though we are both admins, he has more "magic" at his disposal. For the past eight years,
if y'all see him in here, it's generally me. LoL Using his tools. Since he went to work
doing online marketing research, he rarely writes. Other than to do political satire and pun
on twitter. LoL)

I do not recall this particular combo being available, before.

I also peeked in via another guise, yesterday, and sadly I do not think
one is able to individualize the color theme anymore. It was there
in 2006, when we opened this alternate universe of poetry and prose.

That's still an option!

Going from edit profile > settings > Forum theme and clicking the dropdown menu, you can customize which theme you have. 

The catch is that you have to have set more than one theme option. Right now, there's only one- which is very nice, by the way! But if you want there to be more options, you have to create new ones:

That way, a user can pick from a collection of pre-made themes. 

I don't know how Proboards used to do it, but this is the way it's worked for as long as I've been using it.
