Another day of love.
I see you lie in quiet slumber,
As I watch you turn toward me,
What beauty to behold in sleep.
A face of such peaceful tranquillity,
You rhythmic breathing slow,
I find I am holding my breath.
For I wish not to wake you,
To not disturb your dreaming,
Since dawn has yet to arrive.
Thoughts go back to last night,
Your face looked so different then,
So gripped in passions deep embrace.
To lie afterward so exhausted within my arms,
Our passions to have been so wholly satisfied,
To savour each other’s ever loving company.
We talk of day’s events...Of love, of life,
Whiling away the hours of the night,
Till we could no longer talk for sleep.
So here I am my love, right by your side,
Waiting to greet you with a smile as you awake,
Which you will return in kind...Dawn breaks.
Another day of love for us has just arrived.
Darkness.
