A thick wall stands between us. Crafted so carefully, I cannot even see it. None the less, it is there. A silent foreboding mass; an invisible force field, always up and in place. I reach outward, to touch you, encounter its shockingly palpable presence.
But I do not feel, what I seek- the vibration of your heartbeat; the heat of your skin; the texture of your short cropped hair; or your boundless spirit beneath my exploring fingers.
Are you the walking dead, I wonder? Vast unconquerable emotions hardened; frozen, deeply chilled as a glacier?
Or am I? And the reason why I cannot see through the wall- is because of the shiny, new copper pennies weighing closed my own dead eyes?

Thank you, kindly, Darkness.
Here's another twist.
It was inspired by a stupid debate I ended up in with an Aussie poet friend at another alternate universe of poetry. And the both of us were stubborn as hell about our opinion. Can't even remember what we were debating, now. LoL
I thought he was an ass hat. And he was. I'm sure he thought I was an ass hat, too. Me? Never. I'm a sarcastic jack ass. Big diff. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing a hat on my ass...
Anyway, it was inspired by the fact, that even with the internet people can't communicate without it turning into a debate. Instead of learning about other ways of life and being and knowledge.
The wall in this piece, is the computer screen.

Polarised opinions can almost always produce sparks, especially if the two poles are well rooted.
But that's debatable... Lol.
