Again with the ashes and flying cinders
I have risen above this burning
four poster bed of nails
some call love others lust
purists term it romance
No phoenix am I
just an ex-victim
of circumstances
a random survivor
of Love's war games
Husbands and lovers
Yeah, I've had those
Hurt to the point
of being speechless
and spiritually maimed
Spirits sundered regenerate
A heart is a bouncing ball
made to be squashed
in the clenched fist of lies
Lies and rumors of lies
But the mind isn't mindless
There is where the pain was dealt
and ultimately most felt after all
Fickle romance and me have parted ways
This is my new mindset til my end of days
I don't want to hear your stories
Tales are riddled with falsehoods
Lies and rumors of lies excuses
Of love I have three expectations now-
Shut up. Look good. And fuck me.
And if I'm still here in the morning
I like my eggs scrambled with cheese
See I was paying more attention
than you were paying me-
I listened and I changed
I became you.
Empty and hungry.

I can see it's been read, but, zero comments.
It's just a poem. Creative licensing and all that rot.
But, I do like my eggs scrambled with cheese. Haha.

Good to know. You know me. I love to pen a good anthem of love rebellion.
Every now and then. Many times, I am inspired by what I am reading
or watching on the television. Or someone else's romantic go rounds.

This one really would strike chords with quite a few people Silver.
Reading your other comments the truth is that we pick up a lot from many places, and ourselves at times. For if you don't understand the subject, how could any of us write about it in a way that resonates with others? That is the secret I think to a good write. And this is a good write.
A very nicely penned piece indeed.
