Quite right anirbas.
This is a bit of fun really, but with a serious undertone.
Nostradamus has been attributed to predicting a fair few things over the years. He started writing his quantrains in 1555. Many of these that have been translated you can find on line these days for those who wish to check out. they do make interesting reading. However...
Scholars disagree on the interpretation of these quantrains, and even if the translation of them is wholly accurate. People seem to pick out those lines that fit this or that occurrence in history. A bit like looking at the clouds in the sky and you suddenly see something that looks like an animal etc.
Also you have to realise that Nostradamus was writing things that might of had a completely different meaning to him and those of that time to how we all see things today.
It is said by some that Nostradamus wrote in this cryptic way because he was afraid he might be tried for heresy by the church which at the time was all powerful. Even today the church still has a lot of influence in world affairs. But at least in most countries today you won't be burnt at the stake for being a witch. Or at least for having views that conflict with the church anyway.
In truth any of us could write a prediction of a distant future. Perhaps scholars of the future then would also try to join the dots of our works to fit their time.

Yeppers, I consider Nostradamus a poet, first and foremost.
And because he wrote poetry, all of his readings are interpreted through the perspective lens of the reader, scholars or otherwise. Read various bits and pieces of his works over the years and read a couple of books and several articles on the man. Watched loads of documentaries about this human, too. A fascinating, highly intelligent being. Most don't understand, he was at heart, a man of medicine.
Poets in other times were often dogged for heresy, treason and or being witches.
As for his pieces being considered "credible" predictions. It is my belief, prediction is a fifty-fifty science. You're either dead right, or you're dead wrong. Haha. And human nature and actions can skew any prediction and change its direction.

The beast with seven heads and ten horns will rise from the sea. A hundred-handed man of grey heart will come down from the mountains.
The man will come with assassination in his heart. The beast's seven heads will speak riddles to all mankind in desperation as their doom marches to its' shores.

Has anyone heard of a Sci-Fi original series called First Wave? It was pretty good in its' day during the latter '90s. Plug in "First Wave TV show" into google, give the thing a shot. A handful of their fake quatrains are actually beautiful and have an eerie edge.
