In the end
it all came down
to one question

Did I dare?

After much deliberation
and a soupcon of procrastination 
I decided yes yes I did 

I did dare after all

 I forged ahead made the call
that rang and rang and rang
unanswered in the twilight 

Till I got the universal message 

To me you were unavailable 
right then and there I made the choice
to cut the retrograded connection

Abort this curious solitary questing 

the release was in the simple daring
bliss in the peace of knowing the answer
to the initial question did I dare?

Oh, yes. Yes, I did. After all.

~Epiphanies or Some Such

It is not always good for any of us
to receive what we believe our hearts
most desire a job promotion a love potion
to jolt the focus of our desire to desire
us as well after all Mick Jagger sang it best
"you can't always get what you want nooooo
you can't always get what you waaaaaant"

And quite often that is the best outcome
whether we know it or not who needs a domineering
boss brimming with negativity for a few dollars more?
That object of our affection we never had? Probably
simply another black eye we didn't need or we
dodged the bullet on a closet full of std's
