Here's an idea: a thread where we can talk about what to do about the world's economic problems and propose how to fix everything.
My first thought: How about we get the U.S. government to go after all the cartels running the world? The car cartel, the real estate cartel, OPEC. We need restraints on the cost of essentials. Put a cap on all profits. Cap it at, say, 10 million dollars, not a penny more. All other income above that taxed at 85-95%, the money goes into a general kitty to pay rent or mortgage on everyone's homes, and regular payments on people's vehicles.
What do you guys think?

Nice idea phantasm. however the very first thing to do I feel is to stop business funding political parties. how can any government make impartial decisions when they are tied by the purse strings to business.
Even then there are the faceless men and women behind the scenes that actually wield more power and influence than you would like to think in our lives, and could bring down people, governments, or a country to its knees in very clever and ingenious ways if they wished to.
Does that sound dramatic? Well yes it does, but there is always a power behind the throne.
