Russian doll president suffocating Democracy running his fatuous mouth with nothing to say from the White House We've got brown babies and kids in cages crying for their parents or worse disappearing Third of the country doesn't even care "He's doing the job I pay him to do" is their mindless chatter and single chant Tell me, is America great, again?
Threats to imprison or execute women that dare to own their bodily autonomy Promises made to take back the children of same sex parental unit families To stop at nothing less than conversion therapy or execution of all gays and lesbians Evangelicals worshiping and blessing a fatted calf of a fake human being Tell me, is America great, again?
Because I can't tell when all I see is hatred and violence in the streets of the self-professed "Land of the Free" Bad cops recruited from KKK rallies beating and shooting anyone not Caucasian Or not rich white bread white, for that matter Neo-Nazis careening cars through people Mad men with guns killing everyone Tell me, is America great, again?

Land of the free? I personally think not. but there are worse for sure. People writing official history have a tendency to gloss over things. As the victors give a creative spin of the truth from their point of view. omitting important facts that don't tally with their interpretation. In this digital age the truth is ever more elusive. I don't know how future historians will be able to decode the truth from the lies. An excellent write anirbas.

"As the victors give a creative spin of the truth from their point of view. omitting important facts that don't tally with their interpretation."
Oh, yes. But, of course. That is why we must be prodigious readers of non-fiction books and articles, our entire lives. To continue, to enhance our public school educations funded by our governments and their white washed versions of history; and to keep us aware and updated of unfolding events around the globe, as well. Even more so in this digital age. As a vociferous reader, from the age of six when I first learned to read, I have always found it hard to understand minds that don't read. Or if they do read, only fiction. Or ever pick up a newspaper.
To say the least, the last three and a half years in this country, have rocked me to my feminist/humanist/atheist core. To this day, I can barely stand to look folks in the eye, socially, that I know voted for the idiot in residence at the White House. Because I have to work too dratted hard to keep the sneer out of my eyes and the snarl off of my lips. These people are family, co-workers and aquaintances. I find myself wishing to save, save, save and pool any resources I can and move off to a remote dot on the map of America, somewhere out there and away from all of this madness. Sigh. And then, I woke up.
Anyway, friend Darkness, thank you for your read and comments.
