The End.
It’s at times like this you see how thin the veneer of civilization really is. And how quickly the man made world falls apart under the strain of disaster.
Well the crazy bastards have really done it!
As I sit here writing this the world is going to hell. Governments around the world who have been feeding lies to the populace for a couple of years now can no longer hide the truth. And the truth is that most of us are going to die soon.
It started just over three years ago. A new strain of virus in some far flung corner of the world was discovered. At first it was thought that it could be contained. Well that was what the W.H.O and many governments thought anyway, as it was far away from civilization, and all the effected villagers had died at the scene. However the doctors and nurses who went there to help unknowingly spread the virus to the four corners of the world on their return.
There are no symptoms at all for up to a month or so. Then it starts like a mild cold, sore throat, headache and a cough, which after a week or so settles down and the patient starts to feel better. But then it comes back really bad. The cough becomes unremitting, those that don’t die from secondary chest infections eventually drown as their lungs fill with mucus. A horrible way to go. And I’ve seen many go that way these past few months.
The totalitarian powers of the world tried to contain the virus with an iron fist at first, but once they had taken hold of the situation they thought by force, it just slipped through their fingers as their numbers dwindled as their armies and political machines died, until their rule of law dissipated like smoke to nothing. Leaving just a legacy of chaos behind them in their wake.
Moderate governments fared no better. As the death tolls rose their desperate attempts to stop the virus came to nothing. They found out that all the riches of the world meant nothing if there were no one left to care for the sick and dying, or have any clue how to create a vaccine for the global pandemic.
It’s only a matter of time till we all contract this... So this really is the end.
