Jesus healed, raised the dead and so on and so forth. But, he said to the people who followed him, this and greater you will do. In the people who follow that faith with a label and a naming, mainly, it is hard to see evidence. Then, there are few. However, it is a good model to me. It could be anything someone does. That they did it does not make them great but that they do it to inspire others to do even better, to go further and beyond the last performance, I feel there is something there. It is like something Jesus said or at the very least something someone wrote that says it is what Jesus said. It can also follow you do not have to follow Jesus or try to be Jesus but some of what was said, what was done, those are good stories and sometimes I find myself wanting to do the same in some way. Nothing I have done or said is sacred but if someone takes it and does something different the same or better and yes, even teaches me by correction, that is what is amazing. It likens to one of my favorite translated lines from the Bhavaghad Gita, which is quote a fucklot, "it is not the fruits of effort that are divine, but the effort itself"....even now, I know more how far I stray from that lesson and even the very mention and repetition of these lines are part and parcel of how I have missed the mark on its meaning myself.

We all miss the mark, don't we? Man wants to know God, to find the Truth, but it always seems just beyond us. But Jesus isn't, or Buddha, or whoever inspires you to be a better person. We need these teachers of every faith to teach us who God is from more than just one perspective.
On a sad note though, I found these words in a commentary on the story of Noah: "...nothing is more difficult than to be honest, peaceful, and loving when deceipt, violence and hatred are the accepted patterns of society." Sounds like today's society (or at least social media) which is why I just try to turn away from it. I don't know what to call what I'm looking for, but I wonder if we aren't all seeking the same thing in our own way.

I share that ponder many times...I do find it hilarious that many of these religions, that say they really get at the "truth" are very ready to explain why all the others are not only wrong, but an abomination to the God their "oh so correct" religion offers.....but with Jesus, it is also kinda funny to me, as they quote him saying "I am the way, the truth and the life"...what if all He was offering was an example to follow rather than a request to be so pedestalized? So then, I come back very parallel with you on this, in that, maybe we are to be exceptional stewards of our own "WAY" with some good examples scattered all about to consider...well, depending who you talk to, I might need an asbestos suit in the afterlife if I adhere to this thought too long....
