Exhumed.
That graveyard conscience won’t exist, To those who with coin some men enlist, At dead of night to churchyard find, Such bodies freshly left behind.
With spade and pick they dig that soil, So consecrated for those spoils, Their labours in a corpse to take, Then from the body soil they’ll shake.
A coffin now comes into view, So deft they lift it out on cue, The lid now opened by their skill, And soon a Hessian sack they’ll fill.
Sweet putrefaction in the air, A corpse who has that blinded stare, This time a woman is the prize, Whose body met a sad demise.
Now back on view for just a while, As the robbers share a wicked smile, Their paymaster has tastes so strange, But with money always can arrange.
Most anything that he would need, This time dead flesh so he can feed, A ghoulish banquet for the senses, That has so many known expenses.
But those robbers care not what is done, For all thoughts of goodness they long shunned, Now they have gone their merry way, As the night begins to turn to day.
Now their work is done as they consign, That corpse to one with grand designs.
Darkness.

there was a serial series on Amazon, I believe, but I watched it and it was delicious in its many twists involving several historic literary figures, Dorian Grey, Nemo, Frankenstein, werewolfs, Samael, witches and so many things....as I read this it just weaved into that show I was watching, called "Penny Dreadful"....this one certainly is full of well pooled blood mate.

What a lovely, well crafted, hellish, fiendish vision thou hast created, Darkness! I would clap, but, reading it, my imagination put me in a graveyard. I feel I should be quiet and not wake the dead.
