What kind of mind wakes
up one day and says this-
storm the Capitol
not a single mask in sight
which proved to be their downfall
With utter disdain
I witnessed self entitled
weirdly dressed white men
storm our sacred Capitol
profaning it with their shit
Egotistical
miscreants white trash
filming exploits
for later viewing pleasure
a horde of mindless white men
Raging lawless mob
feces smeared on the white walls
piss puddled down halls
a pack of drunken toddlers
not a grown man among them
What kind of mind wakes
up one day and says this-

mindless disdain...I am speechless as to all of it...but Nir, the word mindless is pretty right on...I don't know how this plays out. I am not ready. Ready or not, something is coming and I want to think and hope it will be a better end and a better means, but my hope is hard to hold right now. We are witness to something I never would have believed possible.

I have asked myself for years, what are these men so damned angry about? I grew up around men like this. My father was a rampant racist and abusive misogynist, as were most of his brothers. Took great pride in being a white man. And not much else. Hated everyone and everything that wasn't them, or like them.
I married an idiot like these idiots. Not David. Haha.
What are they so god damned angry about? After six decades of over hearing conversations as a kid; and then listening to white men rant and rave, it would seem they all hate the same things: Not being able to own a black human being like their great-great-great-great grandpappy did. Having a Chicano neighbor. Having a black neighbor. A woman with an opinion. They hate Women's Rights almost as much as they hate Civil Rights, for everyone, including the LGBTQ+ community. They hate retail workers and burger flippers making fifteen dollars an hour. Yet, we are the essential work force, right now. They just hate everyone. Nasty, grumpy trump groupies.

Nothing more dangerous than a rebel without a cause who have to jump on the bandwagon of something or another to justify their grievances with society. Be they true or false.
Every country has them, and in times of war a few of them would be hailed as hero's if they were fighting for the right side at the time.
What happened in the capital last week is certainly not democracy in action. I have a feeling this is not over as many who took part in this clearly felt they were like freedom fighters, and that IS scary. Revolutions are endorsed by men and women like this, and the horrors that happened last week pale into insignificance to what could of happened, and has happened in the past. What has happened is that around the world some countries will see democracy in a new light, and some will look at democracies flaws.
To me it is just another example of how far we need to go on the evolutionary path.
There is something fundamentally wrong in society, and it's not a quick fix.
