On a serious note

I have joked many a time
but felt joy on nary a rhyme
I wonder if all I am or will be is the cruel end of a joke
and on this poem I fall out of time

I feel as though my soul sank a moon ago
As though the river bank flew a time ago
but my soul remains upon the breeze
carried away on the universe flow

I have played many a time
but won in clash nary sublime
I once ate a lime
then ran away cause its tooooo salty

I have cried upon the clouds
ran into the storm on fortnite
but what for my love
to feel
to reel
to fish

women
they want me
fish
they fear me

was I born to fish
but forced to work?
or like an imposter
I lay among us

Bucks I will buy
in the shape of a V
to buy a skin in fortnite
and I sing a somber tune as my mom beats me
on a serious note.

I freaking love this, Bouchelli!

The imagery is stunning, electric. A hailstorm
of emotive energy, universal emotions. Had so much fun reading
it in my head, I read it again, out loud to myself.

And while I don't play fortnight, I've watched it played several times.
Quite the romp. But, I am not worthy. LoL I understood the storm references, etc...
as a result though. Loved how you tied that all into this "poetical" tour de force of words.

And the twist at the end, had me howling with laughter
and shaking my head in the affirmative! Been there, done that,
as they say.
